Is anyone having any issues with their LO just screaming about everything or screaming in general?

It seems to be a new hobby of Miss Marilyn's to scream. I've tried time-outs (which she thinks are a joke) and explaining to her that civilized people don't scream and every other thing that I can think of. My neighbor suggested a light tap on her mouth (that worked for her 3 year old) but I don't really want to go there.

Any ideas or anyone else going through something similar?

Yes! And the more I say to stop it, the more she likes to do it. Ava HATES being closed in/out of anywhere, so I put her in her room and shut her in there a few minutes. Lets just say when she comes out, she isn't smiling anymore lol. That seems to work for me. Yeah my SIL brought up tapping her mouth, and I am not going there either. I told DH I'm gonna tap her (SIL) mouth lol.

ew tapping the mouth? I mean I could see how that would work but I wouldn't want to do it! And covering their mouth doesn't work either i've tried that one!

For me, counting down from 5 works. Gets him to eat when he's being stubborn, gets him to go potty when he's being a turd about it, gets him to stop crying when he's faking it.. just took him a while to understand that when I got to 1 I wasn't playing around anymore.

Yep, screaming, whining, hitting........you name it. We are doing time outs and she cries and stays there until she calms down and agrees to be a good girl.

We sometimes lightly tap her had......but now she smacks her own hand after and looks at you like, "So, I can do it too and it doesn't bother me!!!"
Ugggg this is a hard age!!!

Isla is pretty good 90% of the time but she can throw a fierce fit! I swear she has the most high pitched ear piercing scream I've ever heard! But like I've said before I will just get up and leave until she chills out.

Not so much screaming yet, but she WHINES ALL THE TIME. I HATE that whine sound she makes. AGHHHHHHHH. LOL. She also has started throwing and hitting when angry. we do short time outs in our entry way on a little rug and she stays there and cries and kicks until she calms down. This age is WAY more difficult than any infant stage i can remember. lol

See, I think this stage is much EASIER than infant stage! Maybe that's because Holden screamed constantly until he was about 10 months old... nothing seems as bad

I would have to agree that this stage has it's own trials and ideas of "patience". Some days are soooooooo difficult now.

Yeah I agree with that. One day could be a good day and the next day complete hell. And they know exactly how to get under our skin, and think it's funny.. You just gotta be patient and handle it the best you know how I guess.
