It looks like we are officially potty training

I bought some underwear for max last night and we've decided that while we are at home we are going to let him wear the undies ~no diaper~ around the house. Of course at night he will have a diaper on. We take him to the potty every 15 minutes. It's been going great today!

any tips from any of you that have potty trained boys in the past?

thats exactly what i did

the only thing is i would repeat myself a million times asking him all the time if he had to go and just saying remember peepee and poopoo in the potty right?

I was hoping you'd see this Melissa! That's exactly what I'm doing. It was so funny because this morning I asked him if he had to go pee a million times.

how long did it take you to potty train your son?

well after he pooped on the potty for the first time he never went in his pants. i honestly dont remember peeing because he got sick for almost a year so i stopped training him and dont remember when i started again.

great news! about once he pooped in the potty he didn't want to go in his pants... Tyler STILL hasn't pooped in the toilet, but I tell him to fart, and I can smell it, or at least he pushes

Ang, he won't go sitting. he wants to stand up! LOL! It's been going pretty good so far. He even went a couple of times yesterday away from home.

I WAS planning on waiting a little bit. But, my mil trains him while she is watching him. So, I figured I might as well also.

I hope that things are going well with this. I have hardly any advice other then enforce the peeing in the potty. I am not attacking this just yet either. I know that there are other things that we are working on then to have to throw that into the mix.

I have really been tempted to buy Andre some pull-ups or even some big boy underwear and try to train him that way. I figure he has to make a mistake (peeing his undies) in order for us to really show him that he has to use the potty.

Well, I did good for about 3 days. LOL! He pooped in his underwear and I kinda got discouraged. I need to start back up with it every 15-20 mins again though. I will probably do that tomorrow. I'm doing pull ups during the day and diapers at night. Taking him to the potty every 15 mins really saves on the cost of those 2 items. It's nice. I think the last day I took him every 15-20 mins we went through 2 diapers...one was because he pooped.
