It's true! The local news just reported it as well. He was 50 years old. What a shock! I am in shock! His record thriller was the 1st album I ever purchased.
I feel so bad for his kids.

Wow that is awful. I to was out and got TWO texts from people letting me know that. I had to go and look it up on my cell phone through the net to make sure that it is the case.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family!! This is awful.

You're right Ang. Bad things do usually happen in threes. It's crazy how quick this trio happened though. It happened in a couple of days. Things don't usually work like that.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family, his fans and his kids.

Ya, and I hear that they think it might be due to drug usage. Not illegal but prescription drug usage. That is awful. The news reported this morning that until they have an autopsy to go on that they do not know and won't speculate on what happened, but he was working on making his big comeback and was planning tons of concerts throughout the world in order to do so. In that he had a physical (I guess to ensure that he was able to do it in a healthy way and have no complications) and that came back that there was NOTHING wrong with him. Now they are definitely thinking drugs but won't say until it is determined. This is awfully sad. Farrah Fawcett died by anal cancer and Ed McMahon probably from many different medical issues due to old age, but this could have been avoided as could have Heath Ledger.

It doesn't seem real, does it? This is going to be big, with the fans and memorials and all that, not to mention the possible drug connection.

This is very sad. DH and I both love his music, we were in disbelief when we heard it first. So sad. I really hope they don't have to seperated his kids, that would be so awful.
In the DDC I am in, there was a woman that actually did the little cheer icon and made a snide remark about it, I think that is just awful. It really rubbed me the wrong way, its like they say "if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all", especially in situations like this. KWIM?!

He was getting daily injections of demerol. That was not good for his system at all! I won't be surprised if they come back saying that caused his death.
I get that some people don't care for what he did in his personal life. But, that's just it....it's his personal life. He was an ICON in the music industry and for people to make fun is just not cool. The man is dead! Geesh!
