Has anyone started thinking about nighttime training or preparation for potty learning at night? I don't know how to get started. She's starting to wake up almost completely dry in the morning, so I think she might be ready, but I don't know how to approach the idea.
I've been battling with this myself. Shy wakes up dry most nights and a couple times a week will wake up in the night crying cuz she has to potty. I've put a potty in our room and tell her to use it if she has to go at night. Since we share a bed I'm to terriffed to try a night without a pull-up!!
Kaden has been wearing underwear at night for about 3 weeks now. He's been having dry nights for over a month now, but since I had leftover pullups, I was just using them at nighttime. Once they ran out, I just went with the underwear, and he has not had an accident yet! I don't know how you can actually train this to happen, since Kaden just happened to do it himself without me saying anything. I think if naptime goes accident free, you have a good start. Restricting fluids after a certain hour is a good idea. With my first son, I had to restrict early - nothing to drink after 7pm! With Kaden, he can even have a little water before bath and bedtime, and it doesn't seem to affect him.
I have absolutely no advice since Bennett isn't potty trained, period. BUT he has had dry diapers at night and naptime for well over a year. He just does not pee while he is asleep. Ever. So if he would just get on board and potty train, he should be a breeze. Oh well...he's on strike with potty training for now. LOL! Good luck!
Hope has done this since she pottytrained back in january. She did it by herself. One nap while we were training she got up, I asked her if she needed to potty she went and has done it ever since. She had a couple of accidents in the first month or so but that's about it. Ok I'm bragging now. Ill shut up/
Kaia is waking at least once a night to go to the bathroom on her own. She hasn't been wearing a diaper for her naps either. If she does wet, she wakes up immediately and wants to be changed. She has been potty trained for just about a year now.
