What do you do to maximize storage and space? Do you need to or do you have big rooms? What about keeping toys and clothes neat? Any secrets?

We have a really small house so we do try to maximize where we can. When we got Ben's twin bed I bought one that has drawers underneath. That way I can keep some of his clothes there and they aren't really taking up room space.

Do you have an Ikea near you? They are the absolute best for maximizing space because almost everything doubles as storage. We have a coffee table that has to rolling boxes under it. They can be rolled out from under the table and used as seats and/or storage. You can lift the lid off and store stuff in it. It's so nice!

As far as clothes go I use those space saver bags when I switch out clothes for the season. Like right now my summer clothes are in them and under our bed. I do the same for the kids outgrown clothes.

I'm pretty good at using all the space. I put up double rods in Em and Ab's closet so they each have a bar and it doubles space.
We have 2 toy organizers with bins, which makes it easy. I also use a lot of baskets and such for toys.
The tubs that slide under the bed are great for storing.

Yeah, I sometimes wonder why I don't just keep the door to their room closed! I've been thinking about the mate's bed (single row of drawers) or even a captain's bed (double row of drawers) for Tanith for her birthday. Their room is so tiny! I probably should move their toys out, but my front room is small too. And no, the closest Ikea is 4 hrs away. Maybe when the tax return comes in I'll do some online shopping!

We have big tubs for his toys..and he is in charge of keeping his toys neat and put away after he is finished playing at night before he goes to bed..
as for clothes..ha we dont even bother hanging up the kids clothes anymore..takes too long so we use dressers..I have no time to fold--just throw it in there..

So glad to know I'm not the only one! I do try to keep it somewhat neat by using baskets for the socks and underwear though.

All I do is keeping Sofia's clothes in her dresser which I keep almost obsessively neat and in order. I only hang her girly dresses in her part of my closet (since she doesn't have her own). Her sheets are in her drawer under her bed. As for her toys and books, she has a little plastic chest of drawers upstairs and a basket with all of her other toys downstairs in her living room corner where she also has her dollhouse, playhouse, kitchen and foam carpets. The part I hate the most is switching summer/winter clothes... I hate it.

i keep all the bigger size clothes, shoes etc in rubbermaid bins up in the closet, i also have three of these tall things with drawers that her toys go in, each one has four drawers...i think they were 16 each at walmart so not to expensive. i also hang her dresses and coats in the closet and current shoes go out in the closet in the living room. i also have one big six drawer dresser and they each have three drawers.
