Madison's Angel day is coming up March 5. I want to do something as a family. We have gone to the Childrens Museum last year. Want to do something different. Weather will probably still be crappy for anything outdoors. I know we will probably do a balloon release and will go to my Mom's grave since we buried some of Madi's ashes with my Mom. If you have any sugestions they would greatly be appreciated.

Hmmmmm....it is hard when the weather isn't good. Do you want to do something everyone can do or something that will mostly be fun for McKenzie? I keep thinking of things like a bounce house place or even something like going to Build a Bear and making a special bear.

Oh, I like the the Build-A-Bear idea. It's fun for the day, and then something Kenzie can hold onto as she grows up.

I've heard of people taking glitter and sprinkling it all around their house while talking about hoe their angel is guarding over them, loving them, talk about memories, etc.

Get a friendship necklace or bracelet and leave half at the grave site and let McKenzie wear the other.

I also like the bear idea.

I like the Build A Bear idea. That would make it very special and she can hold onto it forever.

I also like that idea. You know even if it is semi-crappy outside you could still do the balloon release (I plan on bringing Becca and Bastian to the winter walk to school day, just pack the clothes on Kenzie ). I really have no other ideas.. do you have a zoo near you, and the money to dedicate a brick or something? Or a bench?

Ditto the Build A Bear idea!! But like Lisa said, she'll be in your thoughts no matter what you do.

Yeah this age is PERFECT for Build a Bear...you could make one for both girls even. I also like Natalie's glitter idea as it would mean something to Kenzie. HUGS Laura...it is a hard time for you and your family.

Thanks girls! I am not sure about the glitter because of the mess and having a dog and cat. We did a Build a Bear thing for their first birthday but may do it again. I like the bracelet or necklace idea but Madison's Ashes are here and not buried. I may just put it on the shelf by her urn. We plan to go out for lunch somewhere.

I just wanted to be clear that the glitter goes outside around the house in on the ground (just in case you liked the idea).

What about a ceremonial burning? My moms ancesters used to do it after someone passed away. They would build a fire (outdoors) and all sit around the fire talking and laughing and remembering. Everyone brings something that makes them think of the person they are doing the ceremony for and each on their turn they burn the item they brought and tell why they brought it and what it means to them. Even if the weather isn't perfect, the fire will keep you warm and I know Tyler does well around a campfire so I'm sure Kenzie would to?

I guess I did not realize the glitter was outside. LOL The burning idea is neat but can't burn inside city limits. You guys have some great ideas. Thanks
