Sitter coming tomorrow at 9:30 am so Tracy and I can go to a bathroom/kitchen showroom and pick out tile for our master bath. After that, nothin. LOL! Maybe we will get lunch (OMG!! A DATE! LOL!). I have been a cleaning psycho. Yes, I think it is nesting! So, more of that. Hopefully Itsy doesn't decide to make the weekend all about him!

I have no idea. No plans that I know of. I'd be happy sitting at home all weekend in my jammies.

Ben is spending the day and night with my parents. Jeremy is on call this weekend. I have some orders I have to get done and then I've got to start building up some stock for craft shows next month.

We went today to pick out flooring for our kitchen and dining room and pantry.
It's crazy how much it costs to have them install it. It's more than the floors themselves. :/

What kind of flooring are you getting? Like hardwood or tile?
What they charge to install stuff is crazy sometimes! Usually if we don't know how to do something ourselves, we know someone who does know how! I'm always super thankful too that we don't have to pay the installation fees!!!

Hardwood flooring. They wanted $1700 for installation and 1500 for the flooring. ***??
Jay was talking to some friends last night and one of hem does flooring, so he said he'd help Jay install it.
I mean, there is so much more I could do with that extra $1700!

I'm glad you found someone to help him do it himself. Some brands of hardwood are precut to fit together pretty easily.
I can't believe it's Sunday already. We did not do a thing LOL Brayden wants to fly his kite so maybe we'll go over to the park later.

That's lock and groove but all flooring pretty much does that now.
I thought that's all there was too it but apparently not.
We were looking at bamboo flooring for several reasons.
1. It's "green"
2. It's a solid hardwood but a lot cheaper than oak or others.
3. It comes in the dark color we want to match the beams in our dining room.
However, with hardwood flooring you need to nail in the lock and groove to plywood, to keep it flat.
It's a "pro" job, so a newbie in flooring couldn't do it, meaning you have to pay for the installation.
Right now we have carpeting in the dining room and linoleum in the kitchen. If we pull up the carpeting and there are hardwood floors under there (which I'm sure there is), That ALSO has to be yanked up (huge mess) and pray there is plywood under that to attach the new flooring to.
The linoleum would also have to be ripped up to put the new flooring, another big mess.
Plus this area is a HUGE traffic area. From the backyard, the dining room is the entry way in. From the garage, it enters into the dining room. To get anywhere in my house, you go through the dining room. With 3 kids, 2 cats and a dog we need something that will withstand traffic, etc...
Apparently laminated wood flooring is better for that. It also has a better warranty. It's also just lock and groove, meaning no nails and Jay and his friends could do it themselves, saving a fortune in installation.
The linoleum wouldn't have to be ripped up or the hardwood floors under the carpet.
It's still 100% wood, just layered differently. So, I think we finally decided to go that route.
Then we can also have our counter tops resurfaced with the money saved and paint the dining room. Now we just need to actually do it.

I'd probably make the same choice Paula. You usually can't tell the difference with the good laminated flooring anyway! We put that in my mom's house last year and it looks great. She had old linoleum in her kitchen and awful carpet in her dining room too. It wasn't too bad to install, we had it all done with in 1 day!

Yeah, I was so set against it because all I've ever seen was ugly, shiny, cheap looking laminate. So the guy asked if we'd ever considered it and I said No, it's hideous. LOL
He came back with a few samples and I said, oh I like this! He said.. That's linoleum. ROFL I said, Oh...
I think it's a bit more than the bamboo we were looking at but at least we'd save a ton on the install.
