Hi girls! I don't post here that often, but I figured that I would ask to see what your 4 yo's are doing...

My son is a VERY busy kid. From the time that he wakes up in the morning, he is alert and ready to roll! He usually wakes up @6:45am, and has 'quiet time' @1:30pm-3:00pm (ish), then bath at 7ish, and bed @8ish. Some days, he will take a nap, but more often than not, he chooses to just read books, etc. On the days that he doesn't nap, he becomes almost unbearable by 6pm. Like...I restrain myself from causing him harm....

Anyways, I was just wondering...what does your 4yo's daily schedule look like? Does he/she nap? If so, how long/often? If not, what do you do to keep from going crazy??

Thanks in advance!!

Sounds familiar. I still INSIST on nap time, but whether or not he actually DOES it is up to him- and most days I think he's just up in his room from 1-3:30 being a hellion, kicking the walls, singing to himself, etc.
When he doesn't nap, same as yours, he is UNBEARABLE in the hours leading up to bedtime. I haven't found anything to do to change it, sigh!

That sounds soooooooooooo familiar!!!
Kami was the same way when she got switched to afternoon pre-k and missed nap time at the sitter. We could barely make it to dinner and she was a hot mess.....I wanted to bash my head in a wall.
The sitter started to make her have quiet/nap time whether she wanted it or not right when she got off the bus from school. Sometimes she just looks at books or cuddles her dolls......but on the days when she really needs it she falls asleep for a bit.
That said, she has gotten used to not napping and is doing a lot better.
On the weekends she NAPS!!! Both her and her little brother nap for over an hour on weekends.....but not until after 3pm.
Hope that helps.

Sorry I am no help at all, my daughter doesn't nap unless she is having one of her fever episodes. If she were to nap, she would never go to bed at night.

Maddie gave up naps a long time ago. There are some days that she has quiet time at home in her room with books.
They nap at school and she usually lays there. She did nap once this week. She can't wait for kindergarten and no nap.

I'm so glad that my guy is not the only one! He is napping at this very moment, so I had better go and take advantage of my free time...a nap for Mommy is in the cards today!

Marcus hasn't had a scheduled nap since he was just over 2! He's an energizer bunny! We don't generally do quiet time during the day either.

Nap time was over long ago for us Tayden is in kindergarten so they don't nap ( although they can ask for a little cot if they want) I think she has asked once all year. She wakes up at 7 am we leave for school at 8:20, she is school 9-4 then home, dinner, and karate two nights a week. Then home for bath time, reading homework, cuddles and bed around 9 pm.

Most of the time we give Zoey a nap. She gets up at 7 am to eat breakfast with her big brother before he goes off to school. She gets a little moody and whines a bit so we tell her to take a nap. She tries her best to not take one we tell her she isn't allowed out of her room till she does. She isn't nice without one.
