How often do you sift through your kids toys and clean out the old stuff? Do you donate a lot of it or just trash it?


I have to do this once every 3-6 months. Whenever the rooms start to overflow!! (Like now!! Both of my kids rooms are a MESS right now!). I throw out any broken or really old things and donate the nicer stuff.

I do it quite often, every few months.. i sell it on the facebook groups, anything that wont sellfor a month or two i donate

Yes, sell or donate every couple of months...but Mr. "I play with ALL my toys" cannot be around while I do it even though I explain that there are people less fortunate and that if he wants new toys, he has to make room.

Oh no my kids can't be home if I'm doing it, they will swear they play with it all and have a meltdown if anything is taken away!!! BUT when I do it and they come home... they have no idea that 30 things are gone!! Amazing right? LOL

Ben will do the same thing "But Mommy that <insert random piece of junk here> is my favorite!!!!!" I clean out stuff when they aren't home.

I get rid of stuff pretty often and then do big clean outs about every 2-3 months. I throw out the broken stuff or stuff with missing pieces, resell some stuff and donate some stuff.
