Has anyone thought about taking them yet? There were flyers at the midwife's office today and I picked one up. It's for a program called Babyworks. I hadn't heard of it before. I'm considering it though. It sounds interesting. I'm also looking for a Bradley class if I can find one around here somewhere.
Anyone else thinking about this yet?
p.s. we got to hear the heartbeat today! It was 155bpm and it sounded like a little galloping horse. lol

I won't be taking any classes. I took a few with my DD's pregnancy, and all of the things I learned went right out the window when I went into full blown labour.
I honestly didn't find the classes very useful at all. I did however really find the baby class I took (diapering, breastfeeding, bathing, etc) REALLY helpful.
they have sibling classes, i am going to sign my kids up for those. i had the lamaze classes with my son, i don't think i want to go again.[/b]
GREAT idea. I didn't think of that. I will have to try to find something like that. I agree Lamaze classes didn't really help me when I took them with my first pregnancy, then again, I was only 19 at the time. I'm hoping a different class will be more helpful.
Im going to do hypnobabies...im excited ive heard good things about the bradley method also! good luck with your classes nelle, once you start going let me know how you like em!

I wont be! specially since this is my 3rd pregnancy lol i didnt even go them when i was pregnant the first time.
I found lamaze completely useless. By the time labor came, I was in so much pain, I forgot all those deep breathing techniques they taught me. My hubby does want to take the infact safety class together and we are going to sign Aaron up for Super Sibs class this winter.
Go here motsy....http://www.hypnobabies.com/ i found it really interesting. If you get a chance read the birth stories. You can also go to the natural birth part of jm and there are some girls there who went natural with hypnobabies. lemme know what you think
i am taking some less invasive classes. there are some that the hospital offers like in your last 3 months. i think i want to take those. they are just more simple and things like that. idon't want any full blown lamaze or bradley or anything like that. i don't know why either just my own opinion and thoughts i guess.

Hypnobabies sounds really interesting. I know for sure that Lamaze didn't work for me but this sounds totally different and focuses more on relaxing than trying to distract yourself with all of that breathing stuff.
yah they actually stopped doing the breathing stuff from lamaze because they said it was dangerous for mom and baby beacuase you can hypervenalate from the breathing techniques....but yah i like that hypnobabies is more about relaxation and positive birthing beliefs
I recently read about the Bradley method, and it very much interested me... I am the most anxious person EVER-- so any relaxation techniques I can get will be really helpful, even though I'm definitely going with the epidural I want to take a breastfeeding class... I think it only lasts one night (not a whole lot you can do without a baby for practice!) but I know there's a seminar, and video, and all that good stuff. What I would LOVE to find, is something for my HUSBAND! He has no idea what to expect, and it would be great if they offered a course for the dads, so that they can be prepared and can help out when the baby arrives.
