I did that with Cora. The medication helped, but made me drowsy. Well, it didn't really take the nausea away, but it kept me from throwing up! Right before I went into the hospital I had been throwing up once an hour for almost 24 straight and was throwing up blood.
I really hope I don't do that again!

Hmm I have been a little sceptical about taking medication but my doctor keeps stressing that I need to keep food down!!! Did anything else help you keep food down besides the medicine??

When I was the sickest? No. Ginger sort of helped before and after, but for that month and a half in there (10ish to 16ish weeks), nothing did. I kept trying to stop taking it and I started throwing up all over again.
Don't get me wrong, even on the medication I threw up 6-8 times a week.
But that's better than 8-10 times a day.

Oh man, I agree. Everything sounds gross, smells gross and makes me want to puke. I hope it doesn't last long, I am miserable!

Oh I have not had much of an a desire to eat anything. But I know I need to eat something for nutrition. The thought of eating makes me sick. But that is a good thing at times. I want to feel pregnant.

Somehow you forget even when you don't have the baby.
I remember once telling my husband (in between heaves) that Cora would be an only child.
Right now I'm thinking, "Oh, this doesn't seem so bad..."
But, even if I DO get that sick again...it'll be worth it if I get to take the baby home.

I'm getting pretty nauseous. No barf yet, but almost this morning. I am sitting here eating turkey sand, w/mayo and pepper jack cheese. I'm getting it down. With a ginger ale. Ooh, I'm now thinkin about some Hagen Daz.
For those with 1st time pukes... Hang in there. It will get better. Ask your Dr. for drugs. Remember www.safefetus.com for if it is safe or not.
I just read the other day, AND, this is what my Dr. believes, that it is better to take the anti nausea drugs than it is to stress your body out so much with puking.
I have Reglan which is supposed to be a group B drug (safe), and last pg, I used Phenegren suppositories (group C.. not as much info available on the group C's). Yep, they make you mighty sleepy, but I would rather nap than puke. Baby and mommy need nutrition and it sure feels good when those drugs kick in.

Yeah I have been feeling really awful and throwing up a little in my mouth but no full blown. The worst part is that I have been getting really bad stomach aches when I eat. My whole abdomen cramps. Once I lay down it goes away in like five minutes.
The closest I've been to actually puking was walking in to a gas station to pee. It had a subway attached and for some reason the smell of subway had me running for the bathroom. I covered my mouth I was for sure it was coming.
