Since we're really going to get to know each other over the next 9 months and beyond, let's talk about how we met our DH's/SO's. If you're married, when did you get married and can you describe the day? If you're not married, are you planning on getting married? If so, when? If not, do you like it that way?

i met my husband online... we chatted for about a month or so before we met face to face and our first date was on Jan 7, 2003 and we saw the movie Signs at the dollar movies.... we got married on July 30, 2005, and it's been great since... I love him dearly.... he claims he used to have a crush on me in college.... we went to the same school and he said he would watch me from afar... the funny thing is that i kinda had a crush on him too... i was his little sister's friend in High School my Senior year... also.. it turns out that his mom actually went to my dad's funeral because his mom is my aunt's best friend.
My dh and I met at a mutual friends house warming party that I was throwing for her. I followed him into the kitchen to get a cup of coffee and he said, "Would you like to go out for a cup of coffee and then maybe back to your place to watch a movie?" And, I said, "Well, I'd love to go out for a cup of coffee with you, but there's no way in h*** that you're coming back to my place to watch a movie!" (I thought he was trying to be fresh! LOL) We met for coffee the next night and ten minutes into our conversation, I asked him back to my apartment to watch a movie! LMAO. We've been together ever since! We got married on May 22, 2004. It was small but nice wedding.

Well I met my dh in elementary school. I was in 4th and he was in 5th. We kept in touch over the years somehow since he moved all over the place. We dated a little while my freshman year in high school and then we got back together my senior year. That was over 10 years ago and we are still together. We got married in 1998 and we will be celebrating our 9 year anniversary the end of March. Its amazing how time flies!!! But he has always been my best friend and to this day he is still my rock!!!
met my dh on a blind date set up by my mom. we talked on the phone for a month before our date. Been together ever since. we got engaged 3 months later and married a year after we met!

I met my DH at a college dance. He didn't call me for a couple of weeks after that I had forgotten who he was!! Well, we pretty much hung out every day after that. This was January. We got engaged in June and married Sept. (2001!) We got married in a reception center with our family and close friends. It wasn't very big!! But beautiful!
I met my DH thorugh my best friend. He had just moved to jersey from S.I. and lived right around the corner from her. As it turns out. Me, my best friend and my sister all married best friends!!!!! our husbands all new each other b-4 us. So we have a nice group!!!!! I am married 10 years already!!!! (wowsa)
I met Brian the night before Thanksgiving 2003. I was at a local bar with some friends, and he stopped by to meet some friends of his, but he knew all the people I was with from high school. He was wearing overalls and I figured a hot guy who would wear overalls to a bar must have a sense of humor!
He bought me a drink, then I bought him one. He seemed pretty surprised by that...lol
He called me the next day, which shocked me because it was Tksgv'g, but we both were busy all weekend and couldn't meet up. We went to a Blues hockey game the next Tuesday, and for drinks afterwards, and we were pretty much inseparable from that point on.
We moved in together after 4 months, bought our house in April of '05, and got married on April 22, '06.
Brian is amazing, he's the head painter for a local school district, runs his own painting company, is an amazing artist (he paints murals in kids rooms), is a local entertainment wrestler (a vampire named Kahyman, and he's the current light heavyweight champ). He proposed to me in the wrestling ring, actually, at intermission, in full costume.
I met my husband at a bar. How cliche is that?! LOL. We had a huge snow storm in 2003 We got about 3 feet. Well everyone was snowed in for a like a week. A friend of mine kept asking me out. I agreed to go out with him just as friends. We went to the ESPN Zone downtown for a work party. I couldn't smoke in the party room so I kept going out to the bar. It was REALLY crowded because everyone finally got freed from thier houses. I asked to use his ashtray. I heard that English accent and I wanted him to just keep talking!! Basically though everything we talked about we just "clicked". I met him out a couple of times, and we just worked well together. We were married a little over a year later.
We got married on the beach in Key West. We have both been married before and had big weddings so this was small and informal and intimate.
Ernest and I met on New Year's Eve 9 years ago in an AOL chatroom. I lived in Denver, Colorado and he lived here in Mobile, Alabama. Two 1/2 months later I came here to meet with him for about a week. Since I was planning on leaving Denver anyhow I decided to give Mobile and try and moved here in July of 1998 (along with my worrisome sister) and been here since.
I met Matt when I was 15 at the county fair, HAHA.. It was so corny now that I look back on it. I didn't even like him at first. He asked for my number, and I said, "Just give me yours".. From that night on, I started running into him EVERYWHERE. The mall, the grocery store, the gas station.. Finally I called him up one night, and we've been together ever since. We had planned on getting married November 24, 2007. But I don't know that I'll be up to it 2 months after having a baby.. so I think I'm going to talk him into changing it to a june wedding.
I met my husband 7 years ago after my divorce. I did NOT want to date him (or anyone else for that matter) - I had planned on getting married ONCE, and since that "failed" I knew I was going to just be alone forever (was quite happy with that "plan.")
We met at a mutual friends 4th of July party. Very articulate - genuine - whatever - I didn't care....lol. My three kiddos were having a blast with the other kids. I was very frank with him (trying to turn him off - NO DATES!!) an he loved it. We ended up talking about our Catholic heritage, our divorces - life's disappointments... then we went for coffee. I fought him off for a year. LOL
We have been married 6 years. I honestly can say that he is my soul mate. Life is so crazy sometimes. I never thought I would trust again. Especially someone to have any more children with. They are my life. My family is everything to me. I could not imagine my life without the persistent nut
