Yay, now you have to post pics of it! I have never heard that it is bad luck. If you plan on having baby sleep in it right away then you should definitely set it up before baby comes. Otherwise, that will be one more thing to worry about when you come home.

I had everything set up for weeks before Cora was due. And I highly doubt that had ANYTHING to do with her stillbirth.

And it's still all set up, so I won't have to do any of that for Jelly.

I would definately set everything up. It is so chaotic when the baby comes home, the last thing you need to be looking for is that screw that fits in this spot or the wrench! The only thing we didn't have set up was the glider. Oh how important that was! We didn't even have one yet! I ordered it the night I went into labor (about 4 hrs before) and it arrived after baby had been home for a day. I was so thankful!!

The only thing I have heard of is in the Jewish faith, it is considered bad luck to bring pretty much ANY baby items into the home before the baby arrives.

Yesterday DH and I set up a bunch of stuff including our crib, and honestly I was really glad we're getting things done early, because as I told him, if we wait until a month before the baby comes I highly doubt I'll be able to get on the floor and help him assemble stuff! It is great for piece of mind to get stuff done early! There is enough to worry about without having to worry about that, IMHO.

I think if you listen at all to the "bad luck" senarios, you wouldn't be able to get out of bed all day. They are a little insane. I also believe bad luck is what you put into it. That would be like saying taking baby clothes or a diaper bag to the hospital are bag luck, because technically the baby isn't here yet.
Everything will be set up and waiting for Emily to get here. I have enough to worry about after she is born, I won't have the time or energy to set up a crib also.
You need to post a pic though, we want to see it!

Bad luck?! LOL I don't believe in that anyway but we've already set ours up. The nursery will be completed very soon! (We are painting right now.)

No such thing as luck. Set it up.

Set it up in the room you are going to keep it in. DH set ours up in the garage and then it wouldn't fit through the bedroom door. lol
