Sunday - checked into the hospital and labor started late that night
Monday - gave birth after a long night and Gabe stayed in hospital nursery for the night
Tuesday - Gabe went to NICU because of jaundice and stayed there all night
Wednesday - we checked out and I caught a severe stomach virus with fever so Gabe stayed with my mom the first night at home while Jon took care of me.
Thursday (last night) - Finally Jon and I spent our first night with Gabe!!
I was so scared! I finally have a few minutes of downtime and Jon convinced me to relax and get on Just Mommies.
Our computer is in the dining room which is right beside the living room. Emily spends a lot of time in there in her swing and Kaitlyn runs back and forth between the two rooms so I get a ton of time during the day to get online!
Aww Dani, give yourself a few days sweety! When things settle down and you figure out how to deal with everything a little bit better, you'll find you have a lot more time. You'll get on a more regular sleeping and eating schedule, and then you can pop in for a few minutes at a time while he's sleeping. Sometimes I bring Matthew's playmat in here while I'm online, and I get online for a few minutes while he's sleeping, and I get online for a little bit at night while DH has him. You'll find your rhythm in a few more days and not feel quite so overwhelmed and consumed by him!
Nap time and times when dh has him. I hardly posted the first week home, and then there have been a few times since when I've had no sleep where I haven't posted.
When she is sleeping usually. Also, I have a laptop and keep it on the coffee table. When I nurse her, I cross my legs, put the Boppy pillow on them and hook her up and I'm free to surf the net while she's nursing. She loves it because she can fall asleep againt my stomach and stay warm and cozy.
Yes I have mastered the chest sleep position with her on my left side and hunting and pecking with my right hand....Relax though, the first fweek to 2 weeks, unil you get a routine, it is VERY hard to find time to even pee and eat, let alone the internet!!!
