For those that don't know what it is, its basically a short vacation not to far away before the baby is born. Best done in the 2nd trimester for comfort.
My dh and I normally take a vacation in October to celebrate our anniversary but since we will have a new baby then we are going to do a babymoon instead. We are planning in June or July to go to a bed and breakfast about an hour away. I found a really great one that has a spa and a pool so we can get massages and swim.
It will be such a great get away before the new baby is here.

A vacation? With five kids and no babysitter? Good grief, no. I'll enjoy my own type of "babymoon" by staying in bed with Baby for a good week after the birth.

Yeah, that really sounds like a good idea. I would love to do something like that but since we only get like 6 weeks maternity leave and 3 weeks parental leave, I need to save up all my vacation. I really don't want to put a 9 week old in daycare or take to a babysitter!! But a nice weekend away would be fun too!! I'm definitely going to talk to my boyfriend about it when he gets home!!
Dh works 6 days a week so it would be tough to go anywhere and be able to have it be worthwhile. He doesn't get vacation days till June and he will save that till the baby is born or take a couple days to do something as a family. The kids go to my mom's on Saturday night's so we do get time to ourselves that way.
My dh and I were talking about that the other day. He wants to save his vacation time until the baby is born, but by the summer he will be working 4 days on 3 days off so we are gonna take a mini-vacation for 3 days either up to canada or down to the cape while my mom watches the boys. Should be fun
Oh yea we are only staying two nights over a weekend. So dh will only miss Friday of work.

No plans here for that, I wish though. We are planning on taking all the kids to Florida though for a week in February. By then the baby should be about 5 months old, give or take.
We will definitely do something. We were suppose to take a cruise in July for my 30th b-day but my doc said NO!!! So we will probably do a weekend thing somewhere. I have to get through my first vacation to Disney World at Easter time.

Not just the 2 of us. Unfortunately we have not family (that I'd leave my kids with) here. But, we do plan to drive down to disney between may and june. My parents want me to go with them in my to visit my mother's mother. I'm not sure yet, since it's a long drive to Virginia.

My bf and I were just talking about this. I suggested a weekend away somewhere relaxing soon when the weather gets a little nicer. We're a very short drive from Atlantic City or Ocean City, MD so that's an idea.
Our little one was conceived on vacation in Punta Cana in the Caribbean and it was the best time of our lives.
We're just going on a 3 day trip to a vacation spot about 3 hours away, to Lake of the Ozarks, on Memorial Weekend. They have a great outlet mall, so I'm sure we'll buy some fun things, and get to lounge at the pool and fish a lot.

Thats what me and my bf are goin to do. We are gonna go to the beach, stay over night, or maybe 2 at an oceanfront hotel. I can't wait!!!
Last year at this time I was 7 months along with Molly and we rented a house in FL for a week, packed up all the kids and had a wonderful time away. We stayed in a tiny little beach town away from the tourist-y attractions. The house was directly on a private beach. I loved rolling in the waves of the Atlantic all big and preggo. ~ It was wonderful!
I don't think we'll be going anywhere this time. Hopefully we'll be moving into our new house around the end of June/early July. That will be blissful too!

I'm going to the Dominican Republic in May for a week but not with BF. He and I might drive up to Jasper or Banff for a weekend during the early summer though.

Sounds like lots of fun trips! There are a bunch of really cute bed and breakfasts here on the island, so I think we'll just go to one of those for a weekend sometime this summer while he's not gone.
