well, he has this T.A.P class in about 2 weeks. Which means we are leaving California in May.

I'm so confused on the move now.I don't feel like driving from California to Michigan pregnant with a 4 year old and a 2 year old. That's way too much for me.I remember the trips from Florida to Michigan with my DD, and I remember just wanting to get out of the car and be at my moms house.
I'm thinking about flying the kids and I out to Michigan.I mean my husband has made this move before so to speak. From Florida to California. But, I kinda feel guilty.I just don't know what to do.Would it be wrong of me to just fly me and the kids out?

I don't think so. In fact, I think it would be safer on you, with being pregnant and all. My doc told me that if we were to take a long car trip to stop every hour and a half to two hours to get out and stretch the legs. Making the trip from Indiana to Florida before...I know how long the drive is-let alone going from MI! It'd take you a week just to get there! I say talk to DH about it. Maybe it would be for the best that you fly. Not self-ish at all. Maybe even get your doc on your side about it.

We're moving from NH to TX in June and we'll be driving. My children are older though (the boys are 5 & 7), and the baby is a year and a half. We have a DVD player for the kids but they are really excited about stopping places along the way. I think you should do what seems easiest to you. As silly as it seems, spending 5 hours in a plane with just me and the kids seems too much for me at 6 months pregnant, but a 3-4 day drive seems easier I don't think it's selfish at all to want to fly, you're the one pregnant, I think you get to call the shots

UGH! A big move like that must be very daunting. We are working on moving about 45 minutes from the city and while I am very excited about our new homestead, I am so dragging my feet about packing and actually moving. I can't imagine a cross country move...

We moved from Alabama to Michigan (1200 miles, but not as far as from California!!!) last summer while I was about 30 weeks pregnant with #6 (the kids were 2, 4, 6, 9, and 10). It was a road trip. We decided since our furniture was mostly thrift-store stuff anyway that it would be cheaper to replace it than move it. That way we could get the tiniest u-haul available and save a lot on gas. We were two days on the road with a day off to stay at a friends half-way. I drove our van while DH drove the U-haul. OMGoodness did I get sick of looking at the back of that truck! LOL!

If the kids and I could have flown, I would most definitely have done that instead. Driving from Cali to MI you probably have at least five days drive to look forward to, right? I am certain you could manage it if you had to, but flying would be so much nicer!

BTW- where in MI are you moving? (If that isn't too nosey...)

Hey! You'll be my northern neighbor! (I'm a little over an hour south of Waterford, in Ohio!)
