well im a tad annoyed. it was for real, and great and all. but they called before we were to go at 6. i guess as a reminder, and to tell me to bring 2 forms of I.D. no problem... or so I thought. you know to get into the building, they wanted to see my credit card??and i'm thinking, thats not a form of i.d. so whether or not it was to take my info or whatever. i changed my mind, and told her i forfited ( sp) the prize to give it to the next contestant. she said i could of covered up my personal information, but sorry, i dont just show my credit card for a form of id, unless im purchasing something and target asks for my card and id. WAY DIFFERENT! so im annoying with the prize announcers.and wish the person who gets the car, the best of luck.

Ive showed my credit card as a form of ID. I mean unless they were making a copy of it no one is gonna remember all those numbers. Sucks though.

I think you did the right thing. If they need ID to verify your identity, a drivers license should be enough. Anytime I am asked for a credit card I get suspicious. My brother had the same thing happen to him. He never go the prize (supposedly a trip to the Bahamas) and the next month he had a $1500 charge on his credit card.

It sounds very fishy to me, probably a scam. Good thing you looked into it and realized it ahead of time! Sorry it is such a let down!

I'm sorry to hear that - that's a bummer. I think you did the right thing though - you shouldn't have to hand over a credit card to collect a prize and what difference would it have made if you covered up your personal info since they would have that from the other form of ID?! I might even try to report it to the local authorities so they can check them out...

I had to go digging for this post. I completely forgot about your winning and than for some reason I thought of it today!
You probably made a wise choice, usually when they want a credit card it is to be sure you have credit so they can try and pressure you to buy something.

i would go back there and SHOW her the credit card and dont let her write down the number or anything! i could understand having to pay the taxes and stuff but nothing more than that. if they dont give you the truck i would call the local new stationlike ask asa or something and use your pregnancy to get them to check it out - say im supposed to be having a baby and this truck was a blessing in disquise!

if not - i guess it just was not meant to be. try not to be discouraged.

You are such a good girl not going there - I am so gullible that I wouldn't have even blinked twice about the credit card. I agree with contacting the authorities to check it out.
