Yesterday was my 19 week U/S, and i was so hoping to find out the sex of the baby..didn't happen The baby wouldn't open his/her legs to show us the goods. How disapointing after weeks of waiting and hoping. Then the tech says i won't be having anymore U/S for the rest of the pregnancy!!! I was shocked to hear this, i thought at least one or 2 more, what gives?? I can't beleive i won't see my baby again til i give birth!!

It WAS very nice to see the baby though, and see how much he/she has grown, moving around etc...i love that since i still haven't felt movement and it is very reasuring to see.

Aww that stinks...usually one u/s is standard but seeing as how you didn't get to find out the gender I would think they would do another one for you Are there any 3D places near you that you can go to?

Glad the baby is doing great! It is awesome to see them move around; isn't it?! :-)

Like the girls said, check out one of the private placfes. I reckon they are in the yellowpages under "ultrasound"

I've had 3 u/s that the baby wont show the goods so I know how you feel I would definatly look into a private place if you have some extra cash

How disappointing... But like everyone else says, check out the private places if you can. That aside, glad baby is doing well!

Sorry, that is a bummer. Typically yes, that is all you get. The U/S that they give you is for diagostic purposes, not to find out the gender. If you DO find out the gender then great and that is what most of us hope for. But I am not surprised that they didn't care that you we are disappointed or didn't find out. The best you can do, like the the other ladies said is to find a private place and pay to go. Then they will find out for you.

I just checked out some private places here, and i actually found one at a reasonable price of $150..i am going to consider this since we both want to know the sex, and it's always really nice to see the baby!!

Awww I'm sorry - I feel your pain though. I went through the same thing yesterday. Those stubborn children of ours!!! I've already booked another appointment for Monday (keeping my fingers crossed that my Dr will give me the form on Friday so I can actually get it done).

That sounds like a reasonable price. I had to pay around $25 for mine(through DH's insurance we have to pay 10% on a lot of different things), so that definitely sounds like a good price to me. I'm so glad the baby is doing good!! Good luck with the other place. I hope you get to find out what you're having soon!

Yeah I would have been in the same boat if this baby was shy. But she wasn't.. Anyways. I'd say find a place around you that does it them for a decent price.

Hey, i had a private ultrasound done... only because my doc won't do an ultrasound until i'm about 24-26 weeks along... And the curiosity was eating at me!!! anyway i couldn't find a place in my hometown and had to travel about 100 miles, i found my place on the internet.. (not sure if i can post the site or not, the site i found it on will show you many places all over the country that will do private ultrasounds) message me if you like... IT WAS AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!! i mean instead of only getting to see my baby on the monitor, the room was set up where the whole wall was a screen....it was very comfy also, and she even did some 3d pix, even though i was only there for the 2d...!!! she even gave me a video of the whole thing!!! it only cost $100.00 and was worth every penny!!! I recommend it, it was the best way to find out.. I'm glad that i went there instead of the doc doing it... GOOD LUCK!!!

Hey Sharon...I feel your pain, isnt it so disappointing? There are a few places around that have special rates on Tuesdays...$99 if you go on Tuesday.

Thanks again everyone Glad everyone understands so well, thats why i love this forum I will see about going to one of these places, i just have my heart set on it now, not only to find out the gender, but to see the baby again!!

Thanks for posting those places Kara, i can't beleive we are in the same boat together on this. The special rates are really good, did you happen to get a special rate?? Yes, the daddy was there for the first time and really enjoyed seeing the baby for the first time
