This morning I woke up to go to the bathroom, and when I was done I was walking out in the kitchen and felt like I was leaking and had whitish water-like stuff running down my leg. I have had this happen before but today it scared me. Should I be concerned? I have an appt. on the 15th for an u/s. I was just worried about leaking amniotic fluid. Any help would be appreciated.

Amniotic fluid is not typically whitish.

Okay, two tmi questions for you... did this soak through underwear or were you "going commando" (as my boys say). Second, did you and your dh/so dtd recently?

My first guess would be either cervical fluid or perhaps seminal residue from sex. Do you only notice it when you first get up? Either of those might be whitish and "collect" overnight but "drain" when you first get up.

ETA: If you really think you are leaking amniotic fluid DO NOT hesitate to get yourself to the hospital especially if you are having ANY spotting or contractions. They can take a sample from you and determine whether or not it is amniotic fluid. (They use something similar to litmus paper, so it only takes a sec.)

Cervical discharge really increases in the second trimester. My first guess would be that is what you are experiencing. Some women have more then others. Though if you should suspect amniotic fluids, don not hesitate to go get it checked.

That actually happens to me a lot! I'll go to the bathroom, pull up my pants, take about 2 steps, then feel a little gush. I go right back to the bathroom to check myself and wipe again (I'm still paranoid about seeing blood). I don't do commando, and actually wear pantyliners because of all the extra cm I have.

Lol I've had one of those before (after taking antibiotics) Trust me this isn't one.

Yeah, I'd say it was probably cervical fluid that accumulated overnight. I always notice more after going pee, too.

I know what you mean. I think it is normal, I have been having something similar in the mornings too for the past few weeks. I wear lightdays because of it.
