I had my 24 week appt. yesterday. The office had made a mistake when making the appt. and my dr. was actually off in the afternoon. I saw a nurse instead. This is the first time that I have seen the nurse instead of my dr. Everything was great with heartbeat but she measured me over and over again because I was measuring too big. She said I was measuring 28 and should be 24. She told me to watch my carb intake. My uterus was big at 12 weeks also. The dr. thought I should be about 14-15 weeks at that time so we did u/s. Also my 20 week u/s confirmed my due date was correct, and that there is only one. Also at 20 week u/s my baby weighed 1 pound exactly. Many of the books I've read say they should weigh 1 lb. by 23 weeks. I feel like I'm going to have a humongous baby!
Anyone else have problems of measuring too big or too small?
I was messured for the first time yesterday!!!! She said I was 26cm, I'm just over 25 weeks and she said it was perfectly normal!!! I got to hear my little guys heartbeat and heard him moving around!!! She commented on how active he was!!! LOL
At almost 19 weeks my baby was 10oz. She was measuring 4 days ahead though. Either your going to have your baby early or your going to have a big baby.
at my 25 week appt. i was measuring 30 weeks..
he said its not me, its the baby.. he thinks i'm going to be early, shes going to be big, or shes gonna stop growing at 8 months
At 24 weeks I measured 24cm, but with u/s I measured one week ahead... hmmm. I'm sure he is fine in there - nothing is exact when it comes to measurements during pregnancy, just an average.
I measured a few week ahead with all my babies (except this one, I started of measuring small and now I am right on track) and they were all around the 7lb mark and full term (within a few days of my due date). So don't worry too much, it may be the nurse was just trying to be extra thorough because the Doc wasn't there.
I know with my son I was always a few weeks ahead and then in the last month things slowed down and I measured normal. I did have a big guy at 9lbs 1oz though.

At 23 weeks I measured 25cm- which I think is big. I heard my dr. say something about me measuring ahead to her intern, but she didn't say anything to me other than that I "better not gain 10 pounds in a month again"
sigh....
I measure a couple of weeks ahead at one appt and then the next one , right on target. It all depends on how your baby is laying and such. Even different people measuring will get different measurements...
just because you are measuring big does not mean you will have a big baby or you will go early.. I measured 3 cms ahead all through my last pregnancy and went at 39 weeks.
as of my last appt, I was measuring right on target. The baby is still transverse!
