How do you know if you have post partum depression? I read symptoms and i think i might have it but im embarassed to tell anyone. Especially hubby-he makes fun of me for being in bad moods. And i dont want anyone to think im a bad mom and take my kids away. My kids are my life.
Aww sweetie no one will think you are a bad mom or take your kids. ALOT of moms go through this , me being one! I am on Fluoxine another brand of prozac! Dont be afraid , i was really nervous but i just decided one day that i couldnt live this way anymore so i got help and it has made a world of difference! My DH is totally unsupportive about it he thinks i am just over reacting but after i was on the meds for a while he really saw a difference and realized i wasnt just being a drama queen! They have a board for depression on JM and its pretty helpful. If you need anyone to talk to please pm me cuz i have been exactly where you are now! I hope you start feeling better soon!
I definitely had a case of the baby blues, and just that was enough of a taste to understand how scary ppd can be. It's very strange to be feeling one way while intellectually you know you shouldn't feel that way.
You know your hubby the best. Do you think it would help if you printed out some information from the internet and showed it to him to point out what you're feeling is valid, normal, and needs to be treated? Try looking in the library for some books on it, as well.
