Had my 32 week appointments with both the regular OB and the high risk OB yesterday. Had an u/s at the high risk dr and they said she looks absolutley perfect. She weighs 4 pounds 5 ounces. All her little parts looked good and she was doing a lot of practice breathing (which they said is very good). Also went to talk to my regular OB. Due to the GD, I have to start going twice a week next week. One day for an NST and another day for an u/s (biophysical profile). She also said they will be inducing me between 38 and 39 weeks (should be the week of Sept 9th).
All in all, things looked really good. After she is born, she will have to stay in the NICU for a couple of days (due to some medication that I had to take during the pregnancy) and we discussed that. That is stressful, but I know we will both be in very good hands. I could not ask for better doctors.
Sounds like things are going well!!! YAY!!!!!! Did you get new u/s pics? Did they let you see her? I'll keep my finger's crossed that everything keeps going well for you!
Wow Laura, just over a month to go! How exciting for you!
I am glad to hear that she is doing well, and that they are watching you both so closely. It is very reassuring. Sorry to hear that she will have to spend some time in the NICU, but at least you are aware of it before hand and know to expect that. It's for the best and it sounds like you are both being well looked after.

I got one pic of her profile. She did not want to show us her face. The u/s techs at the high risk dr I go to are wonderful. They have two screens in the room and one of them swings over so it is right in front of me and I can watch the whole thing. The tech talks to me the entire time about what she is doing and what she is looking at.
BTW, forgot to mention she is still breech. Hope she turns in the next 5 weeks!!
Sounds like things are being handled well! Are you still on oral meds or did you have to start insulin?[/b]
I am going to start the insulin. THe first appt I could get at the diabtetes center will be Monday (8/6). So I am on the Glyburide until then and then I will start the shots. We just can't get the fasting sugar down no matter what I do. My doctor said that apparently it is just my body and not anything I am doing with my diet.
I am so glad to hear you have a game plan. It's not too far away and your little one will be here. I feel so sorry for you girls with GD - some of you have so bad - how miserable.
I'm glad your little girl is looking so good! I go to the doctor twice a week now...while it can be a little much, it is worth it for the reassurance that everything is OK!

Thank You Caitlin for my beautiful siggy!
That's great news! You and baby are both healthy! And you're right, those NICU docs are amazing people, it's hard to leave your baby, but they are awesome!
