I made it to my first goal of three months
and I honestly don't know if we can go further
he gets frustrated and bored and only wants to nurse when hes upset or tired
but basically refuses when hes hungry

how long did it take your milk to dry up?
what formula are you using now?

Congrats on making it to 3 months, I think that is a great accomplishment! I only made it to 3 weeks (I had horrible blisters that wouldn't heal). It took a good month for milk to dry up, I don't think it is even completely gone yet. I only felt engorged for a week though. It might take you a little longer because you have been breastfeeding longer, I'm not sure how that works. Ice packs will become your bestfriend when you feel engorged though! We use similac advanced formula.

I will be weaning Ava (partially or fully, I'm not sure yet) starting next week. I plan on just cutting out one feeding at a time to help/eliminate engorgement. If my milk dries up completely, then I won't be bfing at all. If it still stays, I might feed her when I'm not at work (probably four feedings). I plan on using Enfamil Lipil since that's what WIC gives us.

I switched very slowly over the course of a few weels. I stopped completely about a week after she turned 3 months. My milk dried up in a couple weeks. I am using Nestle Goodstart. That's what I used for my first baby, so I just stuck to that. It was a very easy transition and no problems with either of us!!

WTG on making it 3 months, though!! That's a great accomplishment. That was mt goaltoo and so when I decided to switch I felt very good about my decision.

Ben has been refusing to breastfeed. I still pump several times a day (which is getting to be stressful). He gets mostly formula and we use Enfamil Prosobee which is the soy formula. Treasure those last moments of him breastfeeding. It breaks my heart that Ben won't do it anymore.
