Just wondering how your animals are adjusting to your newest addition? Neither of our dogs have had a lot of exposure to kids let alone infants so I wasnt sure what they would think.

Right off the hop they were both very curious of her. Her first night home Matt brought her into our bedroom while she was crying and both the dogs started barking like crazy..they didnt know what the heck that noise was!!! lol That only happened once and now they know exactly what her cry is and when they hear her cry they both go running for where ever she is. When I get up int he middle of the night one of them gets up with me and comes over to the crib to make sure everything is ok..he he One (or both) will sit beside the rocker while I am nursing and only go back to their beds when she is back asleep.

I am so happy they have adjusted so well to her- what a horrible situation to deal with if a pet didnt welcome a new baby into the home. Defenitly glad I dont have to deal with that.

So what cute things do your dogs/cats do with the baby??

My cats ignore her. The dog will come near her and smell her. That's about it. My parrot has down all of the noises that she makes and imitates them very nicely!

Well I have to wennie dogs. One of them totally ignores her. The other one is like a little Momma puppy. She was the same with my first. She will sleep under the bassinet and if the baby is crying she will run to her and lick her in the face (i try and stop her from doing it though!). She is too sweet always trying to watch out for Lainey.

my cat hasn't been agressive but kind of just ignores her. He is kind of scared of her still but we give our cat LOTS of attention so he doesn't get jealous and do something bad. However, once he somehow got into the nursery without my knowing it and i closed the door. 2 hours later i saw his paw under the door. I FREAKED out because they say never ever let a cat alone with a baby. the baby was just fine. I will never EVER let that happen again (i check the room before leaving each time now), but it's nice to know that he didn't do anything when he was in there with the chance to!

I have 2 cats - I don't even think the younger one realizes there is a new addition to the household lol. The other one though completely ignores the baby but is still trying to compete for my attention and follows me wherever I go. It's kinda strange though b/c she won't look directly at Dominic. For the most part they have been really good.

Smoke is absolutely wild about Chani. She will sit on the table next to her crib and watch her and purr for hours. When I go to my glider to nurse her, Smoke will follow and curl up next to my leg and watch Chani nurse and purr.

Mark says that she's become more affectionate since we brought Chani home.

my 2 pomeranians show little to no interest in Ethan. My cat sniffs him every now and then but otherwise also has little interest in him. I am kind of sad our dogs are not more interested.

I can tell that our fighter fish loves Ethan, but since he is constricted to his fish bowl, he can only look lovingly from afar.

my chiauhauh protects the baby and will sleep under his crib and the boston terrier seems very cautious around him and they always want to lay with him and snuggle. they are both very good doggies.

My cat hissed from across the room the first day or two, but since she's been fine, mostly ignoring him. The dog is doing better than I expected. Sometimes he'll come over to sniff Loren, but he actually seems less hyper now. I was afraid he would bark at night when we're up with the baby, but he hasn't made a peep. Every once in a while he'll follow one of us around and bark for attention, but we've been trying really hard to give him and the cat a lot of attention since we got home.
