I think my little guy is sick

This morning he went about 3-4 hours without eating, which is really unusual for him. I changed his diaper to wake him up a bit and offered him the breast. He ate for about one minute and then just quit. I thought maybe he was just sleepy so I kept trying to get him to eat more, but he wouldn't. I gave up and he was just lying on his side half on my belly half on the boppy and he threw up all over. It was some serious projectile vomit and it was a lot of vomit! He actually threw up twice in about three seconds. I thought maybe I just overfed him or something but now just ten minutes ago he did it again and I know he didn't eat too much this time.

He doesn't seem fussy or anything, but with as much as he has thrown up he cannot possibly have much left in his stomach. Any ideas? Thoughts?

I'm worried about my little guy...

I can't help too much, but I did read that projectile vomiting under 6 weeks or so may mean they're sick. I'd call the ped and see what they say. If he does it too much, I would worry about him getting dehydrated. Good luck, I hope he feels better soon!

Okay, don't worry! Jett did the same thing and I was freaked at first. He did it twice too - I fed him and then he did it and so I fed him again and he did it again. It was such a power puke too!

I figured out that I had to burp him not just when he was done feeding, but throughout the feedings. This was a while after he was born too. Keep an eye on him and if that doesn't work and it doesn't get better by morning, call your ped and ask for advice.

He will be fine - just give it time. Sometimes this happens and it does scare us!

eta: Also, if you have questions or can't get to JM to ask, you can always call or text me if you would like. I would be happy to ease your mind or help out if I can!

Personally I would call your Ped. The risk with throwing up is dehydration, sounds like he may be sick. I hope he feels better! Please keep us posted!
