I was wondering how many ended up having a c-section? My cousin was induced last year and was minutes from having a c-section, but the doctor used a vacuum to pull her son out. Can you tell I am getting nervous? I go to the doctor tomorrow, so maybe I have progressed more on my own. Today I am going to feast on pineapple and kiwi to try to soften my cervix. I might even get some red-raspberry leaf tea.

i was induced and had a c-section. i hear that happens most of the time. c-section recovery is terrible, or at least it was for me.

I have been induced twice. With my son, I had to have him vaccuum extracted and almost had a c-section.. but that was because I was already weak from an ongoing illness that I had during the pregnancy. With Arianna, I didn't have any trouble at all.

I was induced with this pregnancy and did not end up with a c section. I was on pitocin from 8-12 though and it did nothing for me. Once he broke my water i went into active labor. dd was born at 3. I think it all depends on how ready your body really is for labor.

I was induced and did not have to have a c-section. The pitocin did nothing from 6am-2pm, at 2pm I went into active labor and had Holden at 7pm. I did have to have an episiotomy, and they almost used the vacuum- but I got him out on my own

I was induced, and I had a C-sec.
I wouldn't dialate past 5 no matter how much Pitocin they gave me.

I didn't think the recovery was that bad. If I had my choice, I would have gone straight for the C-sec and not gone through labor! (then again, my epidural didn't really take)

Thanks girls. It's reassuring to know that so many have been induced and not had C-sections. My mom had really bad infections after both C-sections. Of course that was 30 yrs and 26 yrs ago (medicine has come along way since), but still something I worry about for myself.

I was induced with no c-section. In fact, it was my fastest labor and delivery.

I have had 3 inductions and no c sections. And I only pushed for like 1/2 hour or less each time. I love getting induced.

Thanks for the reassurance. It sounds like some people have had good experiences with induction. I hope I do too. Tonight is the night. Tomorrow is the big day:-)

I was induced and ended up with a c-section. Ethan's heart rate dropped but my doctor also said she didn't think he was going to fit and that I probably would have ended up with a c-section anyway. My c-section recovery has been terrible too.
