Hayden did get Rotovirus. Basically he has been pooping up to 5 times a day and then 3 times in the night. It is a horrible retchid smell and it gets everywhere. My hands are seriously chapped from scrubbing his clothes. Last night he threw up everywhere all over himself and the couch..I had sat him down so I could make a bottle and then blech. So I gave him a nice warm bath and a massage and tried to feed him and he wouldn't have it..He maybe drinks 12 oz. in a day. It has been very hard to hydrate him. He is very very fussy and sleepy alot during the day. Everyone please keep him in your T&P's please! Thank you ladies.

Ohhhh Dannie I am very sorry he is so sick!! I will definitely being praying that he gets well soon. Do you know how long it usually lasts? Ugh poor baby I feel so bad for him! I bet the warm bath made him feel better. When I was little and would get the flu, my mom would rub lotion on my feet and it made my stomach quit hurting for awhile. Just a suggestion to help keep him comfortable, there are lots of nerve ending in the feet and I think it can help with pain and discomfort to massage them...I don't know if there is any truth to it but it might help. I feel bad for you too Dannie, I know it must be hard to see you baby so sick! Hang in there and let us know how you guys are doing.
Aw, Dannie. I'm so sorry. Poor, sweet baby boy. I agree with Jill. Massage lotion into his feet. It's not a cure, but I believe reflexology does ease discomfort.
Philly: Adults can get it but it does not affect us nearly as bad as infants.
Aww, Poor Hayden! I feel so bad for him. It's such an awful feeling when you can't do anything when your LO is sick. I am definately thinking about him.
Dannie, Kendall just spent a week sick with the stomach flu with symptoms that are exactly the same as Hayden's! I wonder if she really had rotovirus? Anyway what we did was mix pedialyte and water (K hated the taste of just pedialyte-any flavor-we bought them all) and put it in a sippy cup and just tried to have her drink periodically through out the day. Our pediatrician wanted us to cut down on the formula because the milk irritated her stomach and caused more diarrhea. We tried to get her to eat rice cereal made with infant water instead. She really woulddn't eat much, though. The other thing the dr suggested was similac soy formula made especially for diarrhea. Unfortunately, K wouldn't drink it. I actually have four 8 oz cans of it that I would be happy to send to you if Hayden's dr thought it would help.
My thoughts are with you. I know how difficult it is to deal with poopy all day and night!
