I just wanted to see how many people are stay-at-home-moms, full time workers (like me), part time workers, etc.

If you work- is it by choice, or necessity?

I voted for 100% stay at home Mom. It took a long hard road to get to this point. Not to mention some debt and all my 401K money used up. But in the end it is so worth it. I got to see my little boy go from a baby to the 3 year old he is now. And in only 2 short years he will be starting school!! So I feel completely blessed that it worked out how it did.

I work full time, but I totally wish I could be a SAHM.
Financially there's just no way, though. Even so, I don't think DH would allow it, anyway.

SAHM 100% and wouldn't have it any other way.

Like the other ladies have said, money is tight but it is VERY worth it. I don't think DH would have it any other way

I'm still on mat leave, so still a SAHM until September. Then I go back to work . I'm thinking about cutting my work week down by one day so I only go in 4 days a week. I don't know yet.

I'm a full-time nursing student, but I stay at home at the moment so I marked "other". Although staying at home sounds so good, I'll only be working 3 days out of the week and Derek will be home on most of those days.

I answered other so I thought I should explain. I worked for Countrywide (mostly from home) and was laid off when Brodhi was 3 weeks old (nice I know). So, I am the type of person who loves to be home with the kids but will also get a little unmotivated and depressed if I am not doing anything (i know that cleaning and taking care of the kids is a full time job). But, I mean something other than that.... So, I am in the process of building a website....I try to work on it for at least 3 hours a day while at home. I am really excited about it so it helps me be ok with not having an actual job. Don't get me wrong I DO NOT want to put Brodhi in day care but I need to do something....so this is it for now.

I checked SAHM 100% until August. Then i will be a full time working mom.

If it were by choice i wouldn't work at all. Right now though its not financially possible. Dh said once i pay off my loan, i can stay home full time! I can't wait!

I work full time but I have strongly been thinking about taking off a year when we have our next baby. I don't know for sure . . . I was stir crazy by the end of maternity leave. I think two LO's might keep me busy enough though.

I work from home PT for the clinic and go to school, but I'm home a lot. When I finish school, I already have a job here in Pine. I will reopen the clinic here and work 3 days/week and I'm only about 4 blocks from the school.

ETA: 4-blocks from my kids' school is what I meant.

I am presently a SAHM. I am beginning part-time courses in May and hope to return to school full-time by the September of 2009. I'm not sure if I will return to work full-time after my mat leave is up in August.

I work 30-40 hours a week for benefits. Dh job doesn't have medical. We have our hours worked out so that Aislinn doesn't go to daycare. She is with one of us always.

I voted other, I'm in school full-time until June, then I'll be working full-time until September, then I'm back to school full-time again

When I work for the next few years I think it will be by necessity but by the time I'm finished my degree I'll be able to work from home most of the time, so it won't be so bad, then I'll probably work because I want to. I'm the kind of person who goes stir crazy without having something to do..

I am a SAHM, I want to do a daycare, but I want to share so many things with Madison once she starts to crawl and stuff I do not want to favor her more than other children out of excitement. I worry about that, thats all. I wish there were something else I could do from home than babysit, any ideas?
