So first lets start with the fact that I worked overnight last night [supposed to tonight too but here is physically NO WAY!] So I worked 10pm-7am. I get home about 7:15 & Brady has a fever of 101ish I think Johnny said. So I give him Tylenol & lay him in bed with me and sleep til about 9:15. I woke up because he was burning up so bad that it was making ME sweat! So I checked his temp & it had shot up to 103.5! I called the doctor told them he had been coughing for the last week and told them how his temp shot up after giving him tylenol. FIrst thing out of the nurses mouth was "has he gotten to h1n1 vaccine?" I told her no. She says "okay we need to see him immediately" Scares the living CRAP out of me! So I get him to the dr at about 11:00 [we live 30 minutes from his dr] We get in the waiting room & there is another little girl [i guess about 8] that has the same things going on with her. They sent the nurse out to check both of their temps. Brady had gone down to 102.2. We had to hold him down and give him tylenol which seemed to make him feel a little better. After an hour of sitting in the waiting room they FINALLY call us back. We get to he room & we have to sit there another hour!!! In the hour Brady starts to get warm again and is obviously feelin icky again. The dr came in and talked to us for a minute and tells me "i think it's viral but i'll swab for strep and check his white blood cells [i think that what i was] if the white blood cells were over 24,000 she was said she'd give him a shot of an antibiotic and send him over to get a chest xray. so they make him mad by swabbing this throat and poking his finger to take blood. come back about 20 minutes later and the doctor says "the strep was negative, which i thought it would be" then she had this LONG pause! then says "i am totally suprised but his white blood cell count is 30,000! i am really glad you brought him in when you did" so turns out he has pneumonia! i leave that office at about 2ish. i got over to get his xray done which was fairly quick. expect the fact that i was able to leave after that was taken and the tech didn't tell me!! so i sat in the office thinkin a dr was gonna call me back or something for over an hour!!! we finally left at close to 5:00! by the time i stopped at the store to get soup for dinner and brady some vapor bath it was 6:30! then i just got dinner cleaned up and brady ready & in bed and its 7:40 && walmart thinks i'm gonna be there to work from 10pm-7am when i've only slept 2 hours in the last 24 hours!! /:
sorry so long. thanks for reading it all if you did [:

Oh my gosh!!! I'm so sorry to hear this, what a scare!
Do they think he has H1N1 and that led to the pneumonia or did it just develop on its own??
I hope he's feeling better

aww poor baby. i saw your FB post earlier but thought maybe it was just concerning his ear infections. pneumonia is no fun at all! it is very good that you brought him in when you did and screw walmart when your kid is sick and needs you and you are sleep deprived as well. hope you get some rest and he gets to feeling better. did they give him any prescriptions?

we both knocked out about 8:30. he slept til 7 & i kept dozing off til 9 [:
i called my manager last night and they need documentation that i was at the hospital & the doctors. ***! i feel like i'm in high school sometimes. whatever ii'll bring in all his papers and they can bite me. i'm not the kind of person to use my child as an excuse to get out of work. i would never lie about my child being sick.
he seems way better this morning. he woke up in a good mood. he ate a whole bowl of oatmeal and a whole piece of toast. he hasnt eaten that much in one sitting in a week. i havent heard any cough all day either. maybe that antibiotic is our miracle drug [:
on another note, i went to the thrift store the other day and i found a sparky! bady hasn't put him down! he is now running through te house trying to get our dog to chase him and he has sparky in his arms!
thanks for all the concerned comments ladies [:

ooh glad to hear he's feeling better now!
i kwym about high school....dh is sick now, called into work yesterday and then went back today but they sent him home and told him not to come back until he has a dr's excuse. well he WAS sick but felt good enough to go to work today...so now he has to miss out on TWO full days' of pay instead of just one! then the kicker, he went to a stupid walk-in clinic, had to pay $48, and they told him to stay home from work til thursday. he FELT GOOD enough to go back today!!! but now he's gonna milk it for sure and be lazy on the couch and get another day off, and his check will be three days' short. that will hurt us when bills come in two weeks. his stupid work, they suck!! should have just let him go back today.

How scary!! Glad he is doing better. Ethan had pneumonia a little while ago, but like Brady the antibiotic worked wonders after the first dose.

well his white counts went from 28,000-29,000 down to 18,000. better but still not where they want them. the lady that pricked his finger & gave him his shot yesterday gave it to him today too! lol. he was a trooper tho. he cried but he still gave her high five, said thank you & bye bye [while crying] we are home now and his leg seems to be really sore compared to yesterday & the dumb antibiotic gave him the runs, THIRD diaper today!

Wow that would be scary! Glad he felt better and sorry that his leg is sore and that he has the runs now. I know how it feels about the whole work thing, I worked at Wal-Mart for 4 years before I quit in 2006. Now just DH works there as an Asst. store mgr. I hated having to bring in doc notes when ever I got sick and everything, good part is that it doesn't count agisnt you now that you have a note. Otherwise it would be an un-excused thing and those can lead to loss of your job if there are 2 many of them..
I hope Brady starts feeling like himself soon and that you can get some rest so you don't end up geeting sick in the end. That has happened to me 2 many times. So worried about Hailey that the day she stars feeling better I get sick! ugh!
