Don't sweat the small stuff!

I don't know if you are anything like me but I can get soo uptight and agitated about the smallest things and at the end of the day I get down on myself for it! Like why did I raise my voice cause the kids made a mess in the living room for the 200th time today!?? They are kids after all right!?!

So just a friendly reminder to take a deep breath when faced with a situation that could make you freak out & think to yourself if it's really worth it to get mad when there is sooo much more going on in this world!!

Phew feel better already...think i'm gonna have to look at this thread a lot today! Off to finish vacuuming for the 3rd time today and do my dishes! Be back soon i'm sure!

So true!!!!

We have just learned this week that a friend and co-worker of mine who was recovering from cancer treatment (and who was in the office last week) is now in hospital, with untreatable tumours throughout her body. She is being moved to the palliative ward. DH, DS and I saw her on Sunday (she was in the hospital, but just to prepare for some tests this week) and by Monday night we got word that after the scans they determined there was nothing they could do. Aside from the sadness of the situation (and the fact I still can't believe it's real) it's been making me think all week of how I get so worked up about things that aren't important, and I need to really slow down and appreciate what I have, ya know?

It's so easy to get caught up in the "little things" and forget the big picture.

So true, Christina. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. What kind of cancer does she have?

It started as oral/mouth cancer, and these new tumours they've just found are everywhere... so I'm not sure anymore what name to give it. They are incredibly aggressive, and growing at a rate I didn't even think was possible. She has huge swelling on her face that wasn't there a week ago that is due to the tumours

The sad and ironic part is that she never smoked a day in her life... and most oral cancers are due to tobacco.
