would you mind sharing how much you pay for preschool, how many days they attend, half or full day, and what kind of preschool it is?
I am in a mad dash trying to work on getting Leila, and maybe even Owen, into preschool this fall. I INSIST Leila is going to preschool this fall but don't know what is appropriate to pay, expect, etc. So far the preschools I am looking at range in the 2000-9000 dollar range.
Any info you want to share would be great!

Jamie is going to a methodist church preschool. It's 2 days a week 9-1 and followes the regular school year calendar. It's 176 per month so that's $1408 for the year.

Irelyn goes to a preschool that is ran out of a methodist church as well (we aren't methodist, don't go to the church, and the preschool doesn't do any church teachings... just uses the facilities). She goes T, Th, and Fri from 9-11:45 and it's $450 every 3 months. Her preschool also follows the regular school year calendar.

Miles goes to preschool through the public elementary school and it's free.
BUT, they are probably cutting it due to budget restraints next year so Rhys needs to go somewhere else (or maybe the year after since he might not be ready, he's still painfully shy) and some places I've looked at are
School #1- Tuesday and Thursday from 8:45-11:15 $192/month for 3 year olds
Monday, Wednesday, Friday from either 8:45-11:15 or 12:15-3:15 for 4 year olds AM class is $256/month PM class is $259/month
School #2- Half Days 8:30-11:30 $25/day for however many days you choose
Full Days (childcare after preschool) $40/day
Full Time $170/week
School #3- Tuesday and Thursday 8:30-11 $165/month
M, W, F 8:30-11 or 11:45-2:15 $235/month
There are some more but I haven't checked them out yet. Oh, they all follow the school calender, except for the one that does full day care too they have summer schooling (daycare )

Emilee goes to a 2 year old preschool class this year, one day a week, 9-11:20. It is ALSO in a Methodist Church, lol, but they are not actually affiliated with the church, they rent the space. I pay $60 a month.
Next year she will move up to the 3s and it will be 2 days a week 9-11:20. It is $108 a month for that class this year, but I am sure it went up a couple bucks for next year. I cannot find next years rates.
Here is the rate sheet for our current school for the current school year:

ALL the ones that you have to pay for the kid has to be potty trained. I was going to send her to head start, but I'll leave the space for a kid that NEEDS it. She's a pretty smart cookie without an extra year of pre-school. She'll go 12/13 to the ELC for 4 year old preschool.

right now jack goes tues and thurs from 9-2 and we pay $210 a month ($2100 a year). next year he'll go MWF (M and W are from 9-2 and F are 9-12) for $260 a month ($2600 a year). brandon goes 5 days right now (M-Th 9-2, F 9-12) for $345 a month ($3450 a year). Ours is a catholic church that i went to as a child. we paid a registration fee of $125 and supply fee of $250 when we registered (per child per year). The 2 year old class does not have to be potty trained but the 3 YO class does ( yay, he's finally trained, i was worried about next year for awhile). so glad brandon is going to kinder in the fall, this was an expensive year!

Kenzie will go on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 930-noon and it is a co-op preschool. They have room for just 20 kids. It is $270 per semester. Only $540 per year. The price goes up if you are unable to help in the classroom, It works out to like twice a month. It is in a church but they just rent the space. It is right around the corner from our house and have heard great things about it. I meet with the teachers this year. We thought about sending her to threes.

Katie goes full day every day for 175/week.
When Em was little she did 2 days mornings for 92/month, and the following year 3 days afternoons for 140 something/month.

Ok we are going to look at a preschool tomorrow for Leila and I pulled up this post to gauge it. I am blown away by how inexpensive some of your programs are!! Did this change since I originally posted this??? The preschool we are looking at for Leila is $200 a month for the 3 year old room 2 days a week and $300 a month for the 4 year old room. She is supposed to be in the 3 year old room according to their cutoff off 4 before the 31st of August but when I was talking to them they made it seem like she would be in the 4 year old room. I find that price so high in comparison to some of yours! WDYT??

Elizabeth is in full day preschool and we pay $660 a month. Her preschool is also at a Methodist church. They have a half day program also and I think it is around $400 a month for 5 days a week.
That does seem a bit high to me for only 2 days a week. Why do 4 year olds cost more??? Usually the price drops when they get older. Cost is so area dependent though, but I wouldn't think you would be higher than where I am.

The most expensive one that I have found in the area here is $1,690 for the year along with a $90 non refundable registration fee, that doesn't go towards your tuition. That is 3 days a week for three year olds for 2 hrs 15 minutes.

Cara it is 3 days a week for 300 for the month, so basically either for the 3's or the 4's it is $25 a day. If you pay for the year it is 10% off so their price for the year for the 4 year old program is $2700 for 2 hours and 45 mins a day.
We really liked it and I would REALLY like to send her to it. I do feel like this area is pretty expensive/outrageous to live in. The cost of living here is pretty steep. Like when we were going to take the family pics ALL the photographers in the area had prices WAY higher than all the photographers near the areas of the ladies in Owen's PR. So frustrating to know you live where things are so ridiculously priced.
Also, they have a program for Owen's age here and I am really thinking about sending him one day a week. It would be $35 for him per week for the one day but his day would be a longer that Leila's. Which this makes no sense to me so I need to question the director.

Just popping in here. Elise goes two mornings a week from 9-1115 at the public school, and we pay $70 a month. It is income based, and the most you can pay is $70 a month for the 2 day a week program. The 4 day a week program is up to $140 a month. I would guess you're looking at a private preschool, which is going to be more expensive. Have you looked at the public school, although now it might be impossible to get her in there because the school year has already started. Next year, Lindsey can go to the same school because they have a 3yr old program and a 4yr old program (of course one in the am and one in the pm ).
Anyway, just trying to give you perspective since I'm relatively close to you.
ETA: Never mind what I said. I just looked at your public school, and their tuition is $320 a month for 4 days a week!

Our public school is only $10 a year, that's why we're waiting til next year for Becca to go. Sebastian will qualify for head start, so he'll go to that for free. They also offer busing so that's nice.

Amy seriously, it is outrageous here!! I wonder why! It makes no sense why things cost so darn much here...it isn't like this is NY or the high cost areas on the West Coast! We are talking way exterior suburbs and not even close to an affluent area. Sigh...
We are going ahead and enrolling her. She wants to go and we want her to go. It will be a huge hit financially but some things have to be priorities. I feel like this is one.

^^^You should pop in more often!!
Leila starts tomorrow!!! I am excited and nervous for her! I'll make sure to take lots of pics because this mommy is excited for her big girl's first day of school!
I decided to put her in the 3 year old room. She is one of those that if you push her too hard she won't do crap. She needs encouragement and pulled along/made to do things and I don't want school to be so hard that she just won't do any of it. I think it was the right choice and either way the director said that if we feel she should be moved up later we always can.
