I found this really fun idea the other day to make themed boxes of stuff for kids the play with and explore. I'm going to try and do a different one each month. Here is one I want to try later on with colored rice. {Share and Remember}: Rainbow Rice & Garden Sensory Play

And here is a great website with a bunch of ideas - Counting Coconuts: Sensory Tubs

I had a ton of fun making my Halloween box. I ordered most of the stuff for it from the Oriental Trading Company. The Dollar Store would also be great.

Here is Elizabeth's box. It has a pipe cleaners (including a giant one), felt bats, buttons, spider rings, stickers and a flashlight.

and here is Alison's. No buttons or stickers in her box.

E has been playing with her box for over an hour so I call this project a success! The pipe cleaners became snakes, she lined up the bats for a Halloween party and made lots of jewelry. I need to make a felt board to play with the bats on. I have felt fall leaves for my fall box.

I have made tons of these for Cameron as autistic kids LOVE these sensory play items. There are a million ways to make them and most kids love them. I haven't made any in a while, maybe I should surprise them with one!

I love your Halloween one Cara! Oh and it's time for a new siggy hun (says the one who also needs one lol)
