Well, in a few weeks we'll be adding a baby boy to our family, and I have a little bit of concern about Cassidy. She is very excited to be a big sister again (and she's a great big sister to Joel), but she is very disappointed that she's not getting a sister. Like this: As in, stamping her foot on the floor and telling me, "The only babies I like are GIRL babies!"

Now, I have the feeling that when baby boy actually gets here, she's going to fall in love with him just like the rest of us. But any advice/experience how to ease her through her disappointment? I know a lot of you have had older kids with a new baby, which I've never had (Cassidy was just 20 months old when Joel was born, so she really didn't care then). Thanks for any thoughts/advice

For months we called this child Elijah (even here)...and when he was born he became Timothy Neal...my beautiful baby boy! Born March 20, 2012, weighing 9 pounds 4 ounces, 21.5 inches long, after a 4 hour labor and 2 pushes.

MAybe let her pick out something boyish for him. like a cute outfit or a stuffed animal
