Ok, so there's this little doubt that's been bothering me a little....

So, my Dr says that my due date is May 12th (this is on relation to my first day of my last period)...but when I had my ultrasound, they lady told me that my due date was actually supposed to be 10 days earlier, May 2nd...still my Dr insisted on keeping the May 12th due date.

Which date is the one that counts?

Id stick with May 12th......ultrasounds can be very inaccurate, because babies do grow at such different rates. Your lil guy was just a little bigger than average at your ultrasound, making it look like he should be due earlier.

When was your u/s? Mine was at 18 weeks and he was measuring 10 days ahead but they haven't changed my due date either . Because my doctor said that only early u/s were good for changing the date. She said I just make big babies my last one was 9lbs 9 oz.

I'd also stick with the date according to your period. From what I hear the earlier the u/s the more accurate it is, but even that can be off.
Baby could have been going through a growth spurt at the time of the u/s.

Yup yup, stick with your doctors date - but it would not hurt to be ready. My doc won't change mine based on an u/s either - but we had to do one to even get a due date because I was on b/c and not paying attention to my cycle, so I had no clue when my last one was.

My LMP date has me at April 26th, but the 10wk scan said May 19th. I was also on birth control so had very little idea what was 'right', however I am preparing to be ready by April 26th, even though the baby's size indicates closer to May 19th. I would just be ready incase the earlier date was correct, but stick with the Drs original EDD.

Ultrasounds at this point can be pretty inaccurate. With DD, they had my due date at April 8th, and then later switched to April 18th, because of her size w/ the ultrasound. Well she came March 29th at 6 lbs. 15 oz. and if we went w/ the ultrasound's date, she would've been considered preemie. That's a big preemie don't you think?

I would go by what your dr says. I think that by the 20 week ultrasound the baby's size can vary so much dr's don't usually change a due date based on that (in my experience anyway). However, the early ultrasounds, I think between 8-10 weeks or so are thought to be the most accurate. My DS#3 and I had just wrapped up breastfeeding and I had gotten one teeny tiny period and became pregnant after that one. So initially my due date was June 2nd. Because I had only one period I didn't really know my cycle length. My dr gave me an early ultrasound and that is when she change my due date by a few days (May 28th). I know that by my 20 week ultrasound the baby was already measuring 2-3 weeks bigger and at that point there is no way my dr would have changed my due date.

I'd stick with May 12. Due date's are just an estimate anyway and baby will come when ready
