I went to the birthing center today so I could get my pregnancy verified (I got to POAS! What fun!!!)

While I was waiting the midwife came in and we chatted a bit. I told her that I wasn't experiencing any morning sickness yet, which I found odd because I had morning sickness before I even got a BFP with DD (at 3w6d)

Well, she told me that it might be because I am having a boy instead of a girl!

I have been kinda feeling that I'm having a boy, but I'm not too sure. We DTD in the timeframe for a girl...I guess we will find out in December!!!

Is that true, that you tend to have less m/s when you're having a boy?

I wish I could POAS, but I don't have anymore. That is so much fun!

How exciting!

I have also heard that you get more m/s when you're having a girl, but I don't know how much truth is behind that. I also have heard that if you're having a girl you will break out more...

Well, I've been nauseous but have broken out less than I usually do when I'm PMSing, so I wonder what that means...

I have never heard that less morning sickness could mean you are having a boy. It is very interesting. DH will be excited if that is true and my morning sickness stays away!

I've never heard it either, but I will say that with my dd I was MAD sick the whole time...with my son only a little...I'm not getting any of that yet and trying to not let it bother me.

That could be true for some people. My mom didn't get any morning sickness, no matter what she had. I have heard your pregnancies tend to be different for the different sexes, but that also doesn't hold true for everyone.

Some people say if one pregnancy is the opposite of another, it could be the opposite sex, that could have been what the m/w meant.

I'm glad you met your midwife, did you like her?

I've met her a few times before, but this is the first time I have had the opportunity to sit down and talk with her. I really do like here - I was surprised that she mentioned the morning sickness thing because really it is just an old wives tale - but I kinda like that too. Pregnancy should be fun and a bit entertaining, and guessing the gender is certainly that.

With DD's pregnancy I had tons of morning sickness...it didn't go away until I was over 16 weeks pregnant! Ugh! And I broke out tons with that pregnancy too. Ew!

Oddly enough I got to meet the other midwife in town on the same day. Cheryl and I went to the other birthing home for a quick tour. She was nice, and quite helpful, but I think I will stick with my plans still. I'm so excited for my first appointment (April 29th) It will be two hours long so I am guessing we will be doing lots of talking. Yay.
