So my BP has been creeping up slowly at my appointments-- nothing horrible, just up to 130/81 yesterday. Well, today, I have had a lot of swelling combined with some dizziness and seeing stars. I am on bed rest, so it's not an activity related thing. I just feel really crappy. I'm having some back pain and feel really hot as well. I checked my BP and it's 140/93. Should I be concerned? I'm thinking of putting a call in to L&D but I don't want to unless I have to. Anyone else have BP readings that high? I'm generally one of those people with low BP, so I'm slightly concerned. I apprecaite your help!

I'm not sure about the BP either..but with all you've been going through and being on bed rest I think I would go ahead and put in a call to L&D. KUP!

I had an appt. today and my BP was slightly elevated today for the first time this pregnancy. I also started seeing the stars yesterday and have had some mild swelling. They tested my urine for protein (it was negative). She told me to just keep and eye on it and if I start seeing the stars again or just feel "off" to call. She said a lot of women who get pre-e just feel "off". Maybe you should call just to see what they say. I know you've been through a lot lately. I hope it all is okay!

I would let them know. Pre-e can develop overnight with no warning signs. They may want to check your urine for protein.

Nichole, I'm one of those people that have a normal low blood pressure too (when I'm not pregnant). When you go from low to 140/93 that is a big jump for you. Everyone is different and has different symptoms when it comes to PIH. I'm glad that you are putting a call into your OB. Please KUP. They may want to have you come in for some blood work and BP check. Good luck!

I've been around 140-155 over 80-93... my OBG has given me instructions to check my BP... if it goes 150/100 then go in. (the bottom number is the crutial one)

My BP today was 140/83. The doctor wasn't too concerned. Last week it was high and he sent me for bloodwork, which turned out fine.

In the meantime, try to lay on your left side.

Hope you hear something soon. I think you definitely did the right thing by calling. THat is a jump for you in BP and with your other symptoms I think they should be aware of the changes.

Got a call back. When I read off my three numbers, she immediately told me to go to L&D and plan on spending the night. I'm just rounding stuff up, and we're headed over there. I'm sure I'll be back home tomorrow, so I'll post then. If not, I'll text my poor BB, Annissa! LOL.

Thanks for the advice, everyone! Hopefully, it's just high BP, and nothing else.
