Ugh. So I'm pretty sure my 2 year old has Hand, Foot, & Mouth disease. We went for his 2 year check up this week. I'm guessing he picked it up in the pediatrician's office since the waiting rooms there are a breeding ground for germs. He started running a fever on Thursday, it was back down yesterday so I didn't worry about it. I noticed he had some spots around his mouth last night and this morning he woke up with spots all over his hands and feet. It's not a big deal and there's not any treatment for it since it's a virus. We just gotta wait it out. But now I'm of course worried about having him around the baby after he's born since I've read online that it can still be contagious for up to 2-3 weeks after the infection starts! Between this and my mom having shingles (which by the way are healing really well...looks like she'll be fine by the time I deliver) this kid's going to be exposed to more things in his first weeks of life than any newborn should be! Guess it's a good thing I'm planning on BF'ing. Anyways, I feel like I should spray the entire house down with Lysol spray just in case he decides to come anytime soon!

Yikes, sorry you're not getting a break with the germs! I hope Seth is feeling better soon though! I know that virus can be really tough on little ones.

Thankfully his seems to be a mild case. He ran a fever Thursday and Friday but doesn't have one today and it doesn't seem to be bothering him too much now. He was pretty cranky on Thursday though...
