Do you live in the same city, state, province, country, etc. that you did as a child? How far are you from where you lived most of your childhood? If it's far away, do you miss it?

No. I grew up in Al and now am in Mississippi, this is the closest we lived to family in a long time. Dh was in the Army so we've been to Germany and then to FT.Campbell, got out of the Army and then went to memphis, TN and then here. But we are going to be moving back to the area I grew up in June! Dh is going the 2nd week of June to rent a house for us then we will start moving! I've missed being close to family at times and am excited to be near family again, but if we have the chance to move somewhere else in a few years, I will most likely be ready. It's sooooo hot and humid and I like living where there are actual seasons and at least a little bit of snow. I may change my mind about it once we move back, because I'm very excited to be close to family again! I'm excited for my family to get to really know my kids!

We live in the town DH grew up in and it's really small!! I don't like it too much, as I am a city girl. We hope to move to Florida or a caribbean island when we retire in 20 years!

I grew up in Brighton Michigan, which is in the southeastern part of MI. It's 16 miles from Ann Arbor. I now live almost 4 hours north in a tourist town called Traverse City.

I miss living downstate so much. I miss having so many cities and options open to me. I hate having to drive so far to get from point a to point b.

I grew up all over but mostly in MN with my mom and now I live is MI about 25 minutes from Detroit. I do miss being in MN because I dont get to see my mom much but I am a city girl and love that everything is so close and out there just to get to a target you have to drive half an hour.

I was born in Arlington, VA and grew up in Alexandria, VA...they're both really close to each other. Now I live a little further south, but still less than 15 miles from where I grew up.

Wow!!! That's so funny - I grew up in TC (I now live in Seattle) and my whole fam still lives there. AND before I loved to TC when I was 10, I lived in Pinckney which is right down the road from Brighton (where my grandparents and aunt still live). I also used to live in AA!!! Small world...

I know how you feel about TC -- there's no freeway, you're totally isolated from other cities, and it takes FOREVER to even drive across town!! My family lives out by the resort, so it takes a long time to get anywhere! Living downstate is a lot more convenient...

I love living in Seattle, even though I miss my family in MI. I'm trying to get everyone to move out West near me...!

Haha wow! Small world! If you're ever in TC visiting, let me know!

However, US 131 is now a highway just a little ways outside Kingsley, so it makes the trip downstate quicker. I live right in Chums Corner down the street from Grawn and Interlochen. So travel is a bit longer for us haha. I was just out by the resort 2 weekends ago heading to Mackinac City.

Ahh Pinckney haha, good memories there! I lived in Brighton but went to Hartland schools. Heck, I even went to Howell! I lived all over downstate but I consider Brighton my home town.

Ha, that's awesome! Yep I will let you know. That's right - I forgot about US 131. That does make it a lot easier. I still have a lot of friends in TC and I usually go home for the Cherry Festival in July. HOWEVER, due to the fact that I'm preggers and there's so much going on, I'm not gonna be able to make it home this year! I was looking forward to the film festival and some lazy days on the beach too! And some cherries!
