So Monday, I have my 20 week ultrasound and end up being there for more than 2 hours (with my two kids) because they gave me a trainee. Because of the heat, the girls are dismissed from school early two days in a row without warning and I have to scramble to go pick them up so they end up at the ultrasound, too.
Tuesday, I get an email from a fellow Brownie Troop Leader (I had said 2 weeks ago, remember since I am having the baby in October, I don't see myself running any meetings mid October-November. In her email to me (no hint of this EVER before), she says SHE is overwhelmed and quits Brownies completely. So, if I don't do it, there is no Troop at all and these girls have been together now for going on 4 years. They can't even split them up and send them to other troops because membership is maxed out in the other troops already.
Wednesday, the washing machine dies and shorts out the house.
Early this morning, the downstairs toilet cracks down the middle and floods the bathroom. So, now I have to pee constantly and I will have to go upstairs every time until we can replace the downstairs toilet.
I have also had M/S in the evenings this week (from stress, do you think?) AND it has been the worst work week in my husband's career, so he has been a bundle of nerves every night coming home.
Oh, did I mention my temporarily homeless best friend and her tornado 3 year old will be moving in with us on the 20th while they wait for the paperwork to clear on their new house? Neither her aunt or her own brother (who has a guest room and is never home anyway) will let her stay with them (her parents died two years ago), so she is coming here to NJ from CT because all the rentals in her area are in neighborhoods where you hear gunshots at night. I have a tiny 3 bedroom house with one working toilet at the moment.
Oh, and I have house guests coming this weekend.
I keep reminding myself my amnio results were good and so all of this is nothing. As my pithy mother in law says, "If this is all the trouble you have in your life, you should be kicking yourself in the a** with happiness." It sounds better in Croatian - sort of rhymes. SIGH.
Wow what a week! I am sorry that you are going through so much. Try to just take it one day (or one moment on the tough days) at a time and think of the blessing that will be here soon!
I am so happy to hear that your amnio results were ok. ( I missed the post if you posted it, sorry) I have been wondering about it since you said you had it done but didn't want to ask. What a relief that must be!
I hope the weekend gets a little easier for you! I think you are a special friend to be taking in your best friend when her family is in need despite all the other things going on in your life!
Wow, I dont even know what to say... I'm sure things will turn out better then you think and who knows, today might be a great day..keep your head up mommy!
I will keep you in my prayers that things get easier. And yup, your mom is right - I say that to myself a lot. God forbid you had a health problem or your baby did, you would trade it in an INSTANT to have these problems :-)
You're not alone.....hang in there!!! :-)

I can see why you'd be stressed out! I wonder what made the toilet crack, I've never heard of one doing that. I've also never heard of school letting out early because of the heat. Man, if they did that here, we'd have half days every day for two months of the year, at least!
You're a good person for letting your friend stay with you. Also for taking on the brownie troop. Just remember that what goes around comes around, and it sounds like you're in for some goodness coming your way, hopefully soon!

My husband jokes that its all my pregnant pee-ing that just wore it out (of course, I think it has more do with the fact that this toilet dates from the 1940s).
*HUGS* I am so sorry your having to deal with all this. I hope everything works itself out soon
and your week gets better asap. *HUGS*
Keeping you and your family in my prayers hon.
I have to say, although life is tough for you right now, you are handling it super well because I was laughing through that entire email with your witt and humor! Good for you, hang in there sweetie! And oh, you are an amazing friend...your best friend and tornado child are very lucky to have you!
