I'm so sad right now. A girl that I worked with (very small company) was due to have her scheduled C-section on Thursday. On Tuesday she was at her OB appt. and she started hemmorhaging (sp?). The rushed her down to do a c/s right then and had the baby's heartbeat right till the end, then he was born. They were not able to revive the baby. I'm so sad for this lady, she had a baby girl that was still born as well, that's why she was seeing the high risk dr. and planned the c/s for quite a bit earlier than her due date. The cause of the still birth for both babies was placental abruption.
Please say a prayer for her, her husband and 8 year old little boy.

That's really sad. I've had one stillbirth and was neurotic my entire pregnancy with DD thinking it might happen again. I've been pretty calm with this pregnancy though. I can't imagine going through it twice. I understand now why my doctors want to see me 3 times a month.

I have had one stillbirth due to placental abruption. This is my pregnancy after my stillborn. I couldn't imagine going thru this and then having another stillborn again. Bless her heart and her family, they will be in my T&Ps/

Words can't express how sad that is. I could not imagine how I would deal with that happening. God Bless her and her family. I never had a stillbirth but my aunt did. She had a stillborn full term girl.T&P's going their way.

what is placental abruption? Can it be prevented? How scary and horrible, I am praying God comforts them....though I can't imagine how difficult that would be....

Thanks for the thoughts ladies, I'm still in shock and sad for my friend and co-worker.
I believe placental abruption is when the placenta separates from the before the baby is born.
