I like the slim fast high protein ones but they have 24g of carbs in each shake and I thought that would be to many carbs to do adkins. I used to be on lowcarbfriends.com years ago but I'm not sure if I want to do low carb again because I have a hard time with induction. I have been backsliding but I'm trying to get back on track . Don't worry about stalling it could just be water weight fluctionation just keep on track you will get there. You have been doing great!!

NOOOOOOOO not the high protein ones!!! lol the "Low carb" ones...they actually say Low Carb on them....but their 6 bucks for 4 of them, their a lot pricier than the other Slim Fast drinks, and you only get 4!! It sucks but its good for when you don't have time to cook...or in my case...don't want to!!! lol

and I used to frequent that board as well....and AtkinsDietBulletinBoard......under my same s/n as this! lol I have been on and off this diet for prolly about 7 years

I'm still stalled...but I'm not giving up....my b/f does the diet with me so its not like he's gonna let me quit...he'd be like "come on!!!" lol

That is so great that he is low-carbing with you. I think it really helps to have someone to do this with. I have some of those vanilla cream shakes in the fridge right now. I can't wait to try them out tommrow and I also got the adkins day break cinnamon bun bars so I will see if those are any good.

Keep on going that stall will break soon and you will be at your 3rd goal in no time!

It looks like you're doing great, Angie! Keep it up! I totally know about the "stalling" thing. It is frustrating but keep it up and you'll get there!!

I remember from when I did Atkins/low carb, that some people have problems continuing to lose when they use too many of the pre-packaged stuff, like the bars and drinks. Maybe try eating whole foods for a few days and see if that gets you back on track?

O, and diet drinks too, and artificial sweetener can cause your body to think it is having sugar, and respond to it. this can cause a stall or even a gain yikes!

yeh I don't eat any of the bars, they tend to have tons of carbs and none of that stuff was even approved by Dr. Atkin's they use his name trademark now that he's dead he can't approve nothing...

I just got my first period since the baby so maybe that is causing me to stall, I tend to retain a lot of water during...I usually only drink them during the week, so maybe now that the weekend is here I can drop some...I'm also starting my birth control, Yaz, it says "may cause weight gain"....why do they all say that crap??? I hope I don't gain....

I don't drink much pop but I do need to drink A LOT more water
when I used to do Atkins I would drink over 100 oz a day....I'm barely drinking 50 now....I need to step my game up!



I also recommend taking your supplements!!!
I take:
Flax Seed Oil
Fish Oil
Vitamin B complex
Biotin
Chromium Picolinate
DHA (very good source of Omega 3 Fatty acids!!!)
of course a general multivitamin



but Imma supplement freak...lol

ok I have two scales...one I just bought b/c the other one was off and I weighed myself right before I went to the doctors and the doctors scale was 5 pounds off from mine!!! ***! How am I ever gonna know what I really weigh????????????

I am stalled and been stalled which I believe is metabolic resistance to the diet because I've been off and on it so many times...
Soooo...I'm going to do a Fat Fast...
for 3-5 days to get my body back into fat burning mode they said the average for one week is 8lbs loss....we'll see....

start date: tomorrow


here we go....

a fat fast is where you eat 5 small meals a day consisting of 200 calories each, that each are 90% fat content....

examples of 'meals' would be:

-egg yolks with 2 tbsp of mayo

-4 strips of bacon

-2 oz of cream cheese with celery

and yes those are examples of 3 separate meals lol

it forces your body in ketosis so you will 'burn fat'
so its really dangerous to anyone who's not metabolically resistant....and you're only supposed to do it for 3-5 days, but you can easily drop 8lbs, then you basically resume the normal Atkin's induction
its for ppl like me who have done the diet so many times I am resistant to it....I don't suggest it if you start the diet and are losing weight cuz you can get really sick
