Did you go to summer camp when you were a kid?
If so, what kind of camp did you go to? Did you spend the night or was it just a day camp? Did you go every summer?
If not, how did you spend your summers while school was out?

I went for a week of day camp, but my grandma ran it so I stayed the whole week there. After camp was out all I remember is a lot of playing outside and riding my bike!

No camp here. We would just go swimming all day at the public pool or play with the neighborhood kids.

I went to day camp when I was younger--around 4-8 years old. After I was too old for day camp during the summer, I played softball and we practiced or had a game 3-4 days a week, but other than that, I went with friends to the local pool or just hung out with my friends.

My sisters and I did 4H camp a few summers, it was just a day camp though. I spent my summers hanging out with my friends, swimming, and I speed skated so I was always busy with that.... practice, traveling, meets, etc. We also went to King's Island in Ohio every summer when we were growing up, so that was a lot of fun too!

We went to this program called "Vantastic Summer" that was held at our elementary school for a few hours each morning. A van would pull up on the schools playground filled with all kinds of arts and crafts activities and a bunch of highschool students ran it. I absolutely hated it!! It was incredibly boring and the "counselors" were not very nice. They always seemed to get the highschoolers that hated kids. My mom made us go every summer since it was her alone time. When we got back from there we played with the neighborhood kids and made up our own games - much more fun! I also played softball so I had practice and games for that. As soon as the softball season was over I would go and stay with my grandma in Philadelphia. She was so awesome! I loved going to her house!

Never went to summer camp. I spent ever summer for about 12 years in Shelton Washington with my grandma. I have wonderful memories of visiting her and my grandpa and seeing my friends every summer, riding dirt bikes, swimming, getting stung by bees and chasing snakes and riding bikes with my twin sister. I love Washington. I went back there about 4 years ago for my grandmas funeral and it was just very comforting being there and seeing family.

Did you go to summer camp when you were a kid? yes
If so, what kind of camp did you go to? Did you spend the night or was it just a day camp? Did you go every summer? It was just a day camp but lasted almost all summer long. We went for quite a while I can't remember how many years though. When we got old enough they let me and my older sister help out and we got to go on the field trips for free in exchange. We loved it.
If not, how did you spend your summers while school was out?
The summers when we no longer went we spent hanging with the neighborhood kids, we had a ton of kids in our neighborhood growing up so we always had a great time. I always feel bad for my kids because we live in an isolated area and they don't have the playmates we had growing up. We were never bored as kids. All the kids would come over and swim at our house. We loved catching lightning bugs too.

Do you think we ever crossed paths at Kings Island??!? We use to go there all the time when I was little!!! Now, we go to King's Dominion here now!
I went to a few camps...but never the "typical" summer camp.
Cheerleading camp, and then I was in a youth symphony in high school--we had a week long camp at a rural college every summer. 8 Hours straight of playing my oboe--geeky!

I went to camp when I was a kid every year from the time I was 8 until I was 17. It was a church camp in the mountains about two hours from where I lived. We stayed 5 days. Some of my best summer memories were there. I looked forward to going every year. *I sure do miss those days* I also did a day camp for a week two years during the summer in HS. It was for my JROTC class that I was in. I had a blast then too!! I will def. find a good wholesome summer camp for Aiden to attend when he gets to the age to enjoy it.
Other than summer camp we played outside and rode our bikes all summer. We also stayed by my aunts pool. Why don't kids get outside and be more active?? I am not going to allow Aiden to stay in the house all day. I think the fresh air, green grass, and sun did us some good!!
