SHE SLEPT FROM THAT 1.50AM MARK TO 10.20AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :

It WAS the tummy.. she won't sleep on her back! my mom said neither me nor my brother and sister would either, we were all tummy sleepers..

I brought up SIDS to her too and she said her co worker, who lost a nephew to SIDS and thus did a lot of research on the subject said that SIDS is in the brain and if it's going to happen it's going to happen, sleep position won't matter... hm.. I want to research this statement more myself.. Just thought I'd share though.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ALL for those tummy suggestions!

Daniel will only sleep on his tummy too. Something that helps him stay asleep when I put him in his bed is I heat it with a heating pad before putting him down. The mattress is cold and that was waking him up until my aunt suggested the heating pad thing, it works like a charm! (usually)

Melaina was a very BAD sleeper and slept on my stomach for the first 7 weeks of her life. As soon as we decided to just give in and let her sleep on her stomach it was like a complete 180 in our house. And then she FINALLY took to a pacifier... and now she can soothe herself to sleep... although for long term sleeping she needs to still be on her stomach.

I know you don't want to associate her sleeping with you, but sometimes it works. Savannah was very similar, she wouldn't sleep in her bassinet for the longest time, and would only sleep in the bed with me. I didn't want her doing this, especially at night, so I started going out to the sofa and let her sleep in my arms there, but not in my bed. Eventually I think she understood, and she started sleeping in her bassinet. Every once in a while she has to sleep in bed with us or I get no sleep, but usually she stays in her bassinet for the first five to seven hours at night. Also, what I did as she wouldn't sleep on her back, I rolled up towels and blankets and placed them on her back and tummy as a positioner so she wasn't on her back but couldn't roll on her tummy and shove her head in the mattress. Those are just tricks I used. A good book for ideas might be No Crying Sleep Solution. (I believe that is the name of it) Just some thoughts! Good Luck!
