and you had nobody to watch your LO, would you take them?

We're going to a wedding Saturday, and between then and now, I have no time to go get one by myself. My feet have been so swollen since delivering Parker that they're getting really nasty--dried out and almost wrinkled--it's hard to explain, but it's gross. Anyway, I need desperately to have them done, but I will have her with me....what do you think? She's usually quite content as long as I'm holding her....

my only concern would be the fumes. My pedi place can smell pretty chemically sometimes

I have seriously considered this same thing. I have been needing one really bad!! The only thing stopping me is the same thing Erin said. I just worry about the fumes. If you really have to do it, I say go in the morning when it won't smell as bad and there aren't as many people there.

I did when Mel was little. I requested to sit next to an open door, and scheduled the first appt of the morning. Would I go now with the kids, no. Its too hard to entertain a 6 yr old, 2 yr old, and care for a newborn for that long there...

Good point...well, that would work with an early morning...I could do it first thing Saturday before we leave. I wish I didn't NEED one, but even Dh said it...and for him to say that I need one, well, it's to the point of desperation!

I've only gotten pedicures when I was really pregnant and couldn't reach my feet. But the times I did go I've gone to hair salons that do them. I can't stand the smell of a strictly nail salon, but there was no chemical smell when I went to the hair salon since they didn't do fake nails. Even if they did it wouldn't be nearly as often as a nail place. I wonder if you could find a place like that.

I don't think I would. What about the dust from artificial nails too?

ETA: Is there any way you could touch them up yourself? Buy a good pumice stone & soak in the tub? I rarely take Luke in the hair salon when Andrew gets his haircut due to fumes.

First of all I am way past needing a pedicure, but I don't think I would bring baby with.

I agree about trying the hair salon place before going to a nail place. And if shes snoozing in her car seat you could probably leave her a little ways away from the stuff you use and still be able to see her. Let us know what you find!

The place I usually go has lots of fans and they usually keep their doors open...so that's why I've always felt comfy going there. They open at 10--I plan on being the first one there tomorrow--if it's, I just won't get it done!

I would do it myself...but they're just so swollen still--I want them to rub them for me! Pathetic, I know!

I wish I didn't have to take her--for the obvious reason that I don't want her going to a place like that, but also...if I'm going to actually pay the money to go...I should be able to enjoy it! I rarely go and get it done...and it's not that I won't enjoy it...it's just that I'll be paying attention to her the whole time, if you kwim?
