I'm going out to buy the Medela PIS Advanced tonight (I've been renting until now) and i was wondering if the motor part of the pump comes out of the bag. I see on the new PIS Advanced Metro bag it does but I'm not sure if it does on the regular PIS Advanced. I would really like it if it came out of the bag but I've been looking at the box and online and I can't tell if it does. TIA

Hmm. not sure I have the PIS from 3 years ago, so it's probably a different model...I don't think my motor comes out of the pack though...although I've also never tried to take it out. Sorry not much help.

No, it doesn't. I bought mine in May so I have the newer version. Pump is attached to the bag.

I don't think it does.. but I don't know who would want to carry the huge bag to work... That is just me, I would worry, because it doesn't zip close and wouldn't fit in many lockers, what would get in it cause the milk catchers aren't really covered by anything... If I wasn't given the PIS I would have gotten the swing one.. or the newest one they have out. Not sure if that helps.

I must have the big PIS system... I didn't know they had a purse! Maybe I would have gotten that one!

The purse one has a zipper to close it but not much storage after the cooler. I know they make a backpack version too.

my PIS original, in a big rectangle messenger bag has a motor that does come out.
it's held in by velcro and takes quite a bit of torque to get out of there.

Even out of the bag it came in, I got tired to schlepping it round trip on my long train commute and keep it at the office. I got a Swing for home use and I like it a lot.
