Thank god its over! We waited and waited for the eye surgeon to get there. he was about 2 hours late! They drugged my poor little guy up, but they did it under "conscious sedation" meaning he was awake but sedated. This way they dont have to put them on a ventilator...but there was still the risk that he may have needed a ventilator as they made him so sleepy he can forget to breath. That was my biggest fear. They told me it would take about an hour and a half, and it did take that long, and near the end I started getting really worried because it felt like forever but they called me back and told me that HE DID VERY VERY WELL!! I got to talk to the surgeon and he told me that he had to do a LOT of laser but that it went very smoothly. He did get apenic a few times but remembered to breath with some stimulation. The surgeon will come back in about 10 days and at that point, he will have a pretty good idea of whether or not it was successful, and we will pretty much know for sure in about 4 weeks, so now we just wait. I am just so relieved it is all over with and he did so well, he is such a trooper, but we all knew that now didnt we? Thank you so much for all your prayers! They worked!! Keep them coming!
YEAY! That is the best news to wake up to this morning. I'm so glad he did so well, I'm sure you are very releived. Now to wait to see how the results are... hoping for the best here.
I am so glad the surgery went well and yay for Trvis not needing the vent!!! He is such a strong little man! Thanks for the update, Chelsea. I have been thinking about the little guy all morning.
