We always have sauerkraut on New Year's.

We plan to go to the movies New Year's Eve/Day once the boys get older. I think that would be a blast. We did that a few times when I was a kid.

We light a bunch of fireworks New Years Eve and then just hang out on New Years Day. My MIL always makes black eyed peas.

We go to my aunt's on New Year's Day to celebrate Christmas with her family.

Nothing really. When I was a kid, it just consisted of staying up to watch the ball drop.

When I was a kid, all of my church friends and I were really close. EVERY New Years Eve we would drink sparkling white grape juice, eat snacks and have a church lock-in. We would play games all night long and then sleep all day New Years Day because we were exhausted. We always looked forward to it.

This year I am staying at home with A. DH has to work.

We really don't have any.

DH & I usually go out to dinner, then come home (our friends would usually go to a bar out of town), but this year we're going to dinner then to a local bar, since our friends will be going out in town.

We don't have any. We usually end up asleep before midnight-we are not night owls!

We had dinner tonight and a drink for Hubby and I. We put in a movie to watch while I bake. Tonight we are watching the new Tinkerbell movie with the girls. Later, we'll watch the ball drop. We have stuffed baby red potatoes for snacking as well as some sweets like chocolate covered peanut butter balls. On New Years Day, I'm going to have Emerald help me make Rice Krispie Treats. I enjoy making these things but look forward to being able to do it with the girls more often when they are older. Before DH and I had kids, we always saw a movie at the theater on New Years Day. We look forward to being able to do that again when the girls are older. I'm not sure what exactly we'll do tomorrow but I'm sure it'll be a good time together as a family.

It is the end of "nerdcon" here. DH's college buddies come from the 27th until the 1st for a week of gaming. For New Years Eve we make a bunch of hor dorves for dinner and I watch the ball drop - as for being up late, we don't go to bed before 2am any night of "nerdcon". I like having people here, but will be glad to have my house back!
