I modified the wording (I knew what I meant, but when I looked at it again, I could see a different interpretation)

We all have life insurance through my work. My work offers life insurance for the kids (it's less than $5 per month for both of them) and it's for $10K each. I never would have thought to get life insurance for them but it was explained that it would cover funeral expenses, so we went ahead and got it. Not something I want to ever think about though.

We have it as well as have 10K for each of the boys. Their policies come with ours with no additional charge.

We thought about getting it for the girls, something small to cover those expenses, but I just can't bring myself to do it. It's something I don't ever want to think about, and as you can see from the statement above, I can't even use the "f" word when it comes to speaking about my children.

I think I have life insurance through the fire company and I also think my parents have a policy on me (one they started when I was a kid). I know my parents had one for each of us (after they lost one child - infant - and realized how much it could cost they got one for my brother and I) but not sure what happened when I became an adult. I know we should have it, but I just can't afford it right now.

My husband has life insurance on him. I don't have any and neither does our daughter. My husband has to have life insurance being in the military. But now that I think about this maybe all of us should have it.

My mom also has a 10K policy on me and each of my sisters. She always says, "It's enough to put you in the ground". I think joking about it that way eases some of the worry of it. My dad's brother was killed in a car accident when he was 18 and my grandparents didn't have insurance on him so my parents saw what they went through. The death alone was tragic, but then figuring out how to afford a respectable funeral/burial made things even more stressful.

DH and I both have life insurance, and then Parker as well. We joked about it when we got married....he had always had his mom as the beneficiary, and when he finally went to change it, he acted like I was going to kill him. So, when he signed the paper I got a steak knife out, he thought it was pretty funny.

DH & I both have life insurance. His is through work, and mine's a policy my mom started for me when I was a baby. DH is currently the beneficiary of mine, but I need to change it to Aaden. I was the beneficiary of a policy on my mom that we were going to use 1/2 of to get a policy for Aaden, but haven't done it yet. I think we'll wait and see what, if anything, happens with DH's job, incase we need that money for bills, etc.

Did you get whole life insurance? Term insurance is much cheaper and the more practical way to go.

I *believe* that if you make Aaden the beneficiary, the money would be put in some kind of trust that your DH wouldn't be able to touch. Since the purpose of life insurance is to make sure the survivors can function financially without difficulty you may want to leave it as DH. If something were to happen, he would most likely need the money to hire care for Aaden.

We have it for both of us and may get some for each child too eventually. We have it set up so that each of us are the 1st beneficiary. If both of us die at the same time, then our kids are set to be the beneficiaries and the money goes into a trust until either they graduate a 4 year university or reach the age of 25 (whichever comes first). DH's job also provides a policy too so he has two separate policies.

DH has life insurance that his parents have set up. Aiden and I do not have life insurance. I really need to get it though. When we lost my brother last year he did have life insurance. My family does not have money what so ever. Anyway, it was so darn stressful trying to figure how to take care of it. Luckily we did, but I would hate for my family or myself to go through that.
