Are there any ladies that don't drink alcohol at all? If so, what do you do when you go out and have a girls night or celebrate New Year's? (two get-together's that I know can often involve a few drinks)
Just curious.
DH and I don't drink at all and I find that when invited to friend's holiday parties, girls night outs and such I usually decline because I feel akward. Everyone else loosens up and I'm already a very reserved person and being the only one not drinking makes me feel even more uptight, like I can't have fun with everyone. My co-workers made fun of me b/c DH and I went to Vegas for my 21st and his 22nd bday and we didn't drink or gamble People are like...why did you even go to Vegas??!
I drink very very rarely. And the first time I even gambled was in December of last year we stopped in Reno for the night on the way home. It was fun but not something I would do all the time.
We do not drink. Personally, my decision is because alcoholism runs in my family and I see how it can destroy lives. I am totally not against drinking in moderation but I don't know if that is possible for me and I don't want to find out either.

We did plan on playing a slot machine or two in Vegas but honestly we never got around to it! We kept putting it off saying there's slot machines everywhere, including our hotel...we'll do it before we leave and we never did. Ironically, I bought a souvineer bottle of beer b/c we stayed at the Hooters hotel and it was designed for Hooters and of course, I had just turned 21 and wanted to buy a beer for the heck of it lol. It still sits closed in the top of my pantry.
I can't say that I "don't" drink. But I can say that I have not had a drop of alcohol in over a year. And I can say that I have no desire to either. I have drank in the past and had fun or whatever, but its just not for me. I don't like feeling crappy the next day, and I honestly don't like the taste of any alcohol...so I just tend not to drink much.
I've drank before, only a handful of times. But I don't have any desire to drink either. Hubby was in college, lived in the dorms & I think he got out all his drinking desires lol. I guess if I went out to a bar I'd just get pop or maybe a virgin drink.

The vaccine isn't on the schedule until 11-12yrs but is approved for use at age 2yrs. Our second son received the vaccine in December 2010 when he was 2yrs old. My son & thousands of other children prove that a vaccine is needed at a younger age.

We normally do not go out and stay home instead. DH makes us virgin drinks and we have a grand old time singing and dancing in our living room. Most of the time when we go out with friends they do not drink in front of us. I have drank some in my time and have been quite tipsy but I have not had a sip since June 2006. The month I got pregnant with Thomas. I do not have the desire to. Yes tequila tastes good and all but alcohol is very bad. My family has a major addiction to it and it has already cost me the relationship with my mother. I
I drink some, but much less than I used to, and obviously even less when I am nursing. I have alot of friends that either don't drink at all or would never have more than 1 glass of wine, so when we have a girls night I throw DH and the boys out of the house and we have a slumber party. not always an actual overnight, but we make yummy hors d'oeuvres and paint each others nails and watch a couple of chick flicks
going out...I'd just go to dinner and I would pick a place that didn't serve alcohol lol.

lol well I've just came out of that stereotypical college year stage. I partied and went out with friends but now we drink when we have some couple time to hang out with friends and just dip our feet into the social pool but it's maybe once a month right now...
DF is the first in his group of friends to become a father so they have a very hard time understanding we're parents and can't hang out with them like before so we get pressured into some >.>
Anyway though, I've only had alcohol since having LJ a few times but compared to like a bit over a year ago it doesn't even come close enough to compare...it was a scary time.

I totally feel you. Me and DH dont drink as well. I have never tested alcohol ever since I was born and I dont plan to. Some friends at work has been on this campaign to introduce me to alcohol and honestly i dont think I want to try it. but then though conservative as well, I am a light hearted person. so I can go out and have fun and be the odd one out. I totally dont mind as long as the poeple I am with dont mind me not drinking as well.
One day i was at this concept development meeting and out of fun one of my bosses say...Jilly have you ever cheated on your husband? I said no. Then he goes but you love alcohol huh? I am like I dont drink...Guess what he told me that I am a freak. I jokingly told him that i dont mind being a freak at all. LOL
LOL Brie That's funny. Ummm do I drink? Not usually, socially sometimes. I would guesstimate that I drink maybe 7-8 times a year. I like to drink occasionally to loosen up & have fun in social situations or on the rare occasion I get to go out. Usually if we go out my family designates me as the driver. Let's just say I am surrounded by a few alcoholics. I do not want to be one of them, so the party is only at my house a few times a year... Like New Year's, Super Bowl, B-day's, etc.
Oh! but I have been seriously craving a big ole' Margarita ever since I found out I was preggo, hehe So once I am done BF I will go have a couple of those...
I only drink socially which is never...haha. A glass of wine with dinner or a beer during a game but that's about it. I had my fun in college and a year or 2 after.
I don't drink a ton...I have some friends that I swear are alcoholics..but hey who asked? I drink I'd say every 2 weeks or so. Not heavily, but I cannnnot resist a martini. Just can't.
I am a lot better though! I used to be a wine-aholic. I'd drink 2 glasses of Cabernet a night..But I don't qualify that as really 'drinking' though...
I rarely drink. I'm always the designated driver when we go out which is fine with me. I drink maybe a couple times a year. Usually when we're on vacation (when a good Bloody Mary counts as breakfast), and if we go to a wedding that has an open bar I'll have one or 2 drinks

Dh and I don't drink. I have never really drank. I don't like beer at all, really only fruity things, seems like there was something else I liked but I don't even remember what it was called. Dh used to drink a bit before we got together, once he was legal, it was out of his system, lol. We have 9 kids and have not lived near family in a long time so we've not really been able to go out with others much. We did have some friends in the Army that we hung out with pretty often and they would invite us and another couple over and they would drink. Dh could usually tell when it was time to go. The one couple never got carried away but when he saw that some might be starting to overdo it then we'd just go on home. It was never an issue for us or them. And lately we've not really had any couples that we are close friends with. We had/have friends at church but mostly just see them at church activites. I don't work so I don't know many other people other than just acquaintances and before dh worked with younger single guys and they were friends but not enought common ground to hang out with outside of work...Or he has not liked his jobs so when he's off he didn't want anything to do with work or anything or person related to work. And now that he's offshore, his coworkers live all over and we don't live near any but we have moved back home so once we find a house and get settled we'll have a chance to get with some old friends.
