Before I had kids.. I honestly have NO idea.. before WW I had not stepped on a scale in over 5 years. I never even went near a scale through either of my pregnancies. I had the most wonderful midwives who said as long as I was not concerned and they did not see any reason to be concerned that there was no point in stressing over weight. I do know however that I am in a smaller size than I was in highschool now
3.2!!!! WOW! That's wonderful, I never did so well on WW as you! I bet you'll be leading meetings in no time!
As for establishing a goal weight... It's kind of hard. I figured mine out by just combining a few different factors:
- my BMI: I want to have my BMI fall around 20. It's in the middle of the healthy range for my height.
- size of clothes: I want to wear my favorite jeans in a 5/6. I don't want to buy XL or L anymore. I want to wear Ms and Ss -- and hey, I'll even take an XS, lol!
- waist to hip ratio: I can't remember the healthy range for this but abdominal fat is dangerous for your heart, so I try to stay in the healthy range.
- body type: I'm a curvy girl, with an hourglass shape. I will never have a teeny tiny boyish figure. My measurements are 36-27.5-36. The ratio won't change, but I can try to bring all the numbers down at the same rate.
For me a healthy weight is somewhere between 125 and 130. I am 5'5".
